Spongebob Cake Makes a 4 Year-Old Boy Very Happy

Spongebob Cake - For My Grandson's 4th Birthday!

My grandson turned 4 on June 12th. With everything that has been going on in his dear little life I wanted to make him a special cake for his birthday. He told me that he didn't want a little cake....he wanted a big cake. And of course that cake should be of his favorite character....Spongebob! So on Thursday, June 11th, I baked a chocolate cake. The recipe I used was new to me. I found it on Hershey's site and decided that it couldn't be all that bad if it was from Hershey. The batter was quite thin, but it stated in the recipe that it would be thin. Once the cake finished baking I set it to cool on a wire rack. Then I headed to my trusty computer and went on Facebook. I gotta tell you that I am having a blast with Farm Town. At nearly 10:30 I decided to head to the kitchen to frost and decorate the cake. I couldn't find my decorating tools so I made do with what I had. The finished cake was passable. Some have told me that it looked great. It wouldn't have won any trophies, but in the eyes of my grandson....it was a winner.

He says he loves me so much he is going to marry me. He says I have to have a special marry dress and a special marry flower. He also says that he is going to stay small, because he wants the cild support, smart kid. Have fun with the little ones, they grow up so fast.

You could go into business doing cakes. Your cake looks wonderful, and I'll bet your grandson will remember that you made it special for him.

What a nice thing to do for your grandson, Elusive! Just goes to show that it doesn't take an awful lot to make the little ones happy.I didn't know you were on Facebook. See you around.

Wow! I think you did a great job! I've only made a few special cakes in my lifetime and the only one that really turned out the best was a frog!

They say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Making any kind of a cartoon character cake, is probably a big feat in and of itself. Don't know how to cook, nor bake yet, so lol, I'm sure you did better then I could have done. I hope you had fun making the cake!

I wish I was that adept at decorating cakes. My kids would love the spongebob cake too. There is no way I could make one that would look anywhere near as good as the one yu made. Way too go!

It is wonderful how kids enjoy the littlest things we do for them. I am sure it was perfect, wonderful and magical in his eyes and that his grandma can do anything.

I'm sure it looked great...you're a terrific grandmother.... I hate to say it but I don't know who Spongebob is other than a cartoon character....he looks kinda weird so I can't imagine what the attraction is.

The cake sounds really cute! I used to do all sorts of cakes for my kids when they were kids. The one that comes to mind is the "Michael Jackson glove" that I made for my oldest when she was a teen. It had white frosting on it and I put those silver ball things on it to give it the sparkles that his glove used to have. Some of you might be too young to remember his glove! I remember doing Ariel the mermaid one time, too, but that might have been for my niece, Ariel!! One time I got a gift from someone that was a hippo cake, since I have collected hippos since 1973!! It was really cute and delicious! At my grandsons' parties, recently, I have had a good time with the black frosting on their cakes and showing them Nana's black tongue!! LOL
