Well, I felt that home cooked food is certainly better than food bought from outside. It's healthier and also "cheaper" in a way.
In my family, it's my husband who is cooking for our family most of the time. I have to admit he is the better cook between the 2 of us. He often cooks a lot of different types of food for the family. Sometimes, it's rice, and sometimes it's noodles. He also cooks others such as pasta and Japanese udon noodles...
What about your family? Who is the one cooking for the whole family? How do you feel about a man cooking for the family?

Man has now been very flexible and moving towards doing most of the woman's job a woman are doing the same way.Nowadays you see woman politician and leaders but at the same time you also see male nurses and also kindergarten teachers. So when you see man doing woman job it is no longer weird but common.I think guys are better cooks than girls in a way. I am not saying that woman does not cook good food,my mum does a great dinner for me everytime I am home.I think that it is good for man to cook for the family since it is the way for them to show their wife they care for them after their long tiring day work but at the same time i think woman can help by cleaning the dish because man hates it so much...haha

Yes, I do agree with you. He's indeed a better cook than me, thus he does most of the cooking. However, he does sometimes also ask me to cook for him too, especially when he don't feel like cooking.
My husband dislikes the washing up portion. I do sometimes help him with the washing up of the dishes....

Mys husband does most of the cooking at our place too! He always does breakfast and almost always does dinner. However he is a real meat and potatoes kinda guy so I have to step in and cook vegetables or make a salad, if it were up to him he wouldn't have veggies at all. I also usually do any baking but sometimes he does that too. I love having him cook, I think I'm very lucky, but I'm afraid he is going to make me fat! Or should I say fatter?

Oh, I guess it's quite common that the husbands are cooking for the family. I do think that it's good too that our husbands are better cooks than we do. At least, we need not do all the cooking like traditional women do. I do enjoy my husband's cooking as well.
Thanks for your reply. Happy mylotting.

It has always been said that women knows best in the kitchen. Men who are husbands always had that tradition where the women only has to cook. Those with children, it is the mother's responsiblity to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner. I find that just a false statement. Not only women, but even men can have their advantage too if they want to cook. Women do find it attracting if men do know how to cook. Nothing wrong for that I mean having a gourmet chef for a husband like the one you have is relieving.
I know how to cook too. I usually cook various meals from italian, mexican or filipino food. It's also all in the spices. I used to be married before. During tha time I also used to cook dinner even after my ex wife came home. And when I do cook a meal, I can't resist into making it so good that once someone has a taste the plate is already empty. So I'm all for it if that being a man knows how to cook in the family. It gives women less stress and more time to be with her family. It is even better as a good combination if both know how to cook. So that's my say on this topic.

It's good to hear from a guy about their perspective in this matter. Well, it's true that more and more men are going into the kitchen. I do feel that it's good that men could also share the women's burden as women are also going out to work. It's good that you do know how to cook good meals as well.
Thanks for your reply... Happy mylotting.

Well, thanks for your response. I do know that I'm lucky to marry a guy who knows how to cook great meals. I think you can try to cook from something simple to cook first. I believe all people can learn how to to cook from practicing. Practice do make your skill better. You could learn by watching some cooking programs and reading some cookbooks on some of the basic cooking skills if you're interested in learning.

My husbands cooks too... he learned it from me though, the moment he did, he was just anxious to try everything else. I happened to be the taste tester now, lol. Well, hello, of course I loved it, lol. It's sweet and romantic, I just wish he could learn how to cook better and more variety so no same menu every other day.

Well, it's good that your husband is willing to learn how to cook from you. For him to cook more variety, you could try and teach him more dishes, and also buy cookbooks for him to read. Alternatively, you can also get him to sit ddown with you to watch some cooking programs. As for cooking better, you can just give him more chances to practice cooking. Practice makes perfect...
Thanks for your response. Happy mylotting...

I think whoever enjoys it should do it. I cook because my boyfriend doesnt like to.
He often does the dishes though so we both share in the cooking experience. There are alot of people who like to cook or have an ability for it so I think they should do the cooking.

Yes, I do think so too. It's better if you enjoy the process of cooking as it will affect the food. If you are not enjoying it, I believe that the food will not taste as good. However, it's good that your boyfriend do washes the dishes after that. At least, he do helps out...

You sure are lucky - I wish my husband can cook more meals. His specialties are fried rice and pan-fried steak. And when he cooks, he only cooks. I still have to do the preparation and washing up. If only he can do all that as well!

Well, I will say that it's better than nothing. At least he does still cook for you. However, I do agree that the preparation and washing up is very tiring... Yes, even so, at least he knows how to cook fried rice and steaks. I know of some guys who do not even know of how to cook instant noodles... They wait for their wife/mother to cook for them for all meals.

If a man knows how to cook it is a plus factor for the girls. At home my mother is our cook because she cooks better than anyone of us. I agree that is more cheaper that to buy outside and you can ensure the cleanliness of it. Sometime I'm complaining too because she always cook more than we could eat.

Hi gcorp09,
In my family it's my mom. She really cooks great. She has magic in her hands. Well sometimes my dad also helps her out. But if you ask me am really bad at cooking. Compared to me my dad cooks better hehe.
I don't think there is anything wrong if mam cooks for his family. In marriage you share everything then why sharing a kitchen is wrong.
Happy Mylotting. Have a nice day.

I think it's great that you have a mum who does great cooking for all of you. I think it's also good that your father do helps out in the cooking too. I do not think it's wrong for a man to step into the kitchen to cook for the family. However, there are some guys who I know that they will never step into the kitchen as they feel that it's a woman's job...

Hi Gcorp09, my husband cooks very well. We take turns to cook every three days. We have our own speciality. So we always enjoy variety of cuisines. I'm Malaysian and my husband's an Indian and we share good choice of taste!
