My daughter doesn't start kindergarten for two more years because her birthday falls in October. She started preschool this year. She has already learned so much. I am trying to decide where she would go to school because private school is a little much right now. I checked out the public schools that she would attend and I will not let her attend school there. Kids learn how to read in kindergarten and that's completely different than it was when I was a kid. I am in my late 20's... I don't want my daughter to feel like she has to be perfect but I want her to be successful. What have you done to prepare your child for school?

Hiyah
My son is little younger for schooling. Maybe three more years and he will be ready for it.
But before that i will going to teach him to write his name, read abc's and numbers and then check a better school. I do anything for him to give him a proper education, hoping that he takes after mommy, loves going to school and smart hehee.
Happy posting.

My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the fall. She can't wait! I sent her to preschool 2 days a week, 3 hours a day last year. I have also worked at home with her since she was very young with flashcards. We make it into a game so its fun with her. We used them to learn colors, then letters and numbers. We are cow working on the differences between the capital and lower case letters. I have her write her name on all her art work. When she signs cards she learns to write others name and whatever she wants to say to practice her writing skills.
