Do you play a musical instrument? Would you like to learn to play another?

I play the piano/keyboard, and I can do a bit on an organ. My mother always wished she knew how to play the violin, and that sounds beautiful to me, too. Or perhaps a flute. I believe we're never really too old to learn a new skill.
Do you play a musical instrument? Or more than one? Is there another one, as well, that you would love to learn to play?

Life is busy, from the time we are children, yes. I'm fortunate to have been able to take piano lessons. You don't really need to play an instrument to enjoy good music, though. It's just up to each of us :)

hi, I would love to learn to play the guitar. I'm really a music lover but I don't know how to play a musical instrument. It's my frustration! Anyway, I want to learn playing the guitar because it can produce different sounds. It can create relaxing or upbeat music, depending on what mood you are in...

You are right. The guitar is a very versatile instrument in all the sounds in can create. Perhaps someday soon you'll have the joy of owning one and being able to take lessons. Playing an instrument oneself can bring such joy and satisfaction, so best of luck to you in that.

Electric guitars have such a unique sound and so much potential for expanding on music. I hope that one day you will be able to take lessons. In the meantime, perhaps you can just experiment and learn a few things on your own :D

Hi Karen =D Yes I do know how to play some musical instruments like flute, piano and lyre because I used to be a member of a drum and lyre band and I was close to my music teacher way back in grade school so it was pretty an advantage for me to learn some musical instruments hehe. =D
However I now forgot how to play them and the only thing I can remember playing are flute and lyre.. lyre and piano are almost the same to operate but i must admit i'm better in lyre than piano.. =D like your mom i also wanted to know how to play violin because of the same reason it sounds beautiful to me =D.. i learned how to play guitar through a classmate whom i insisted to teach me how to.. hehehe.. his monthly allowances is low each day he has to spend 10 pesos a day to budget his allowance since he's near our university so we agreed that i'll pay him 20 pesos each session hehehe.. =D

I admire your talent, your ability to play so many instruments. It is also great that you help your friend by paying for the guitar lessons. Music is such a big part of life and joy for most of us. It is wonderful to be able to play our very own at times!

Nope, there are no age limits on learning :) We do so in one form or another all the days of our lives. Maybe you will by the time you are old and gray know how to play all of them :D Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi! I love music and I can play a bit (I mean like a beginner) of the keyboard, but I'm not really that good. My parents enrolled me to piano lessons when I was younger but I quit because of the sharps and flats. They somehow confuse me. But don't get me wrong, I get pretty jealous when I see someone play the piano. I wish I could be better with it. Aside from this, I'd love to learn how to play the guitar and the drums. :) I think it's pretty cool. I really am a music lover and I can appreciate how it's played, but unfortunately, I don't know why I can't seem to play an instrument. Maybe all I need is a little more determination. By the way, I have a cousin who plays the violin. She's really good and I think that you should go for it if you really want to. Because the violin is a very beautiful instrument that makes really lovely music. :)

That is one of my dreams, to play the violin! I learned the piano when I was 8 through two years of lessons. I bet if you experiment you will find at least one instrument on which you would do well :)

I love music, too. I'm not sure what a zheng looks like, but I've heard some beautiful Chinese music. I hope once you have mastered it, you do get to learn piano :)

i can play the flute and guitar, but i still wanna learn how to play the base.=)
If you want to learn how to play the flute, it's pretty much easy. You can learn all the basics all by yourself.

I can play a guitar a bit and a piano, but I'm not yet confident to say that I can really play since my fingers easily get hurt whenever i play guitar and for the piano, my fingers are not that big so it's kinda hard for me to press the keys with wide gap. Anyway, I also want to learn how to play drums but i don't know how can I do it because it's too costly and too spacious to own one.

Kudos to you for knowing how to play two instruments, even though they are difficult for you :) As for the drums, how fun that would be. Perhaps someday, you'll have enough space and money to pursue that :) Thank you for responding.
