Spain will face USA in the semis and Brazil will face-off against South Africa.
If nothing goes wrong, Brazil will face Spain in the finals.
Who do you think will win the final?
My heart says Brazil, but my brain goes with Spain.
I've been a supporter of Brazil since I was a kid, but at the moment, Spain has been playing far too much better than Brazil.
Unless Kaka comes up with something extraordinary, Spain will win because of their all-round brilliance.

Hi SiddFisher,
Its hard for me to make decision which team will I support. Spain have 5 player under Liverpool pay list and I always support Brazil at International competitions after England.
BUT, if our prediction base on world ranking and current form, then Spain definitely will win this year FIFA Confederations Cup. They play much better football then Brazil did recently. They win 14 games in raw now and that is a new record.
Unless Dungga can do something about his team then maybe the result will different. Hope Kaka and co will show their true color in the final (if they qualify).
The team who do not make mistake and take a chance will win this tournament. It will be tight games.
Hopefully there will be a lot of goal. It is better to watch 4-4 then 0-0 unless your are the team defend coach :).
Happy mylotting and please earn a lot :).

I'm a Liverpool fan too!!
But I have to say that Spain's attack hasn't been very consistent so far.
I know they've been winning, but look at the scores: 5-0,1-0,2-0.
You can never decide a match depending on world rankings.
Now look at Brazil's current form, they've scored at least 3 goals in every match they've played. That's what I call consistent attack.

You are right about that SiddFisher. Never underestimate your opponent. People said ball is round. Sometime you are at the top and sometime you are at the ground. Its never finish until referee blow the final whistle. Just ask AC Milan fan about CL Final 2005/06 :).
A single mistake maybe cost the Cup. Hope there will be interesting final to watch and the best team that day win. Sick of heard "the best team lose" from manager.

Looks like Spain did make that 'single mistake'!
Man!! I didn't expect that result!
I hope this doesn't happen to Brazil....they're my favorite team!

Well the USA wiped out Spain - Yahooooooooooooo - it's great - hope the USA goes on to win - I would love it if they played Brazil and beat them. Spain thought since they had gone 35 games undefeated today's match was theirs to take - WRONG - Come on USA

Yeah! looks like I overestimated Spain or should I say I underestimated the US.
It was premature on my part to go around proclaiming Spain to be the winners.
Looks like I learnt my lesson.

If it does indeed end up being Brazil versus Spain in the final then I think that I would have my money on Brazil. Spain will not be easy to beat, but I think Brazil have what it takes to do this. It could be very tight with maybe 1 goal deciding it. It will be very interesting to watch if it does indeed happen.

Your prediction is perfect in theory but in practice one cannot be so sure. See how Brazil had to struggle to beat Egypt; only luck saved the samba boys. See the way United States made a mince meat of the Pharaohs, I wonder how many persons would have thought that USA would defeat Egypt, talkless of scoring three unreplied goals! Both Spain and Brazil are great teams with even greater managers. The strength of the Spaniards lie in playing all round football and the potency of their strikers. However, I feel they may find the counter attacking playing style of Brazil not so easy to deal with. The strength of the samba boys is in the agility of the players and the way they can easily turn defence into attack; that's what "killed" the Italians (purported to have the best defence in the world).
I feel South Africa was lucky to make it to the semi-final stage, but they may be able to still cause some upset, if they are able to play to instructions from their manager and correct the mistakes they made in their previous matches.
The American team that never dreamed of qualifying for the semi-final stage will throw everything into the game against Spain. If the Spanish team had to work hard to defeat the bafana-bafana, then the players of Spain should be ready to work even extra hard to be able to crush the Americans who seem to have rediscover their rythm. In conclusion of this submission, I say: May the best team win the competition.

I think Spain is really unbeatable these days, performing very well indeed. However, Brazil is playing better and better in every game (How great to lead Italy 3-0 in just first half!). I expect wonderful match between this 2 team.
I think Dunga will play fast counter-attack which suits his style, and Brazil forwarder got better confident in shooting. But still, I think Spain get a better
chance to win

SiddFisher,
Looking at the current form of the teams, I must say that Brazil have my full credits. Their commitment, tenacity and creativeness so far well surpassed the rest of the teams so far. I can see a number of Spain supporters here, but I just felt that they have not performed to expectation during this tournament. I do not know what's the reason behind their lackluster performance but I have a guess that there has something to do with their stressful commitment.
Anyway, I do hope that they will reach the finals but at the moment I just have my reservations.
Cheers.

Looks like I am right, sometimes the hungrier team will win as shown by the team from USA.
Spain's performance is just too pathetic and I just cannot understand why and how it took so long for the coach to have Villa substituted. When it took place it was just too late. No offense taken for any of Villa's fans here, but I'd just feel he should not be in the first 11 to begin with.
Anyway, the next match will be left to see if Dunga can maintain that mettle discipline to bring the team to the finals. So far, the discipline in the Brazil camp is exemplary and the European counterparts really need to learn from them.
Enough said, lets remember that the ball is round, anything can happen in the next semi but other than a total anarchy in the Brazil camp, I think we will see a Brazil vs USA final.
Cheers.
