It doesnt necessarily mean that we need to disable the firewall or the anti virus, possible work arounds is to adjust the setting of these softwares but depends on the features or available settings. Better to contact your anti virus or firewall manufacturer. Im actually a technical support rep here in the Philippines in a broadband account and there is a test on the computer to prove it. This is the safe mode with networking mode (dont try this on your own, better to contact also your isp to report slow speeds). This test in general will disable these sws and you'll get a smooth connection.

When we are experiencing a slow speed connection to the internet, you should always have a stable signal strength for broadband or avoid any forms of interference like electronic gadgets transmitting signals for dsl, dial up or cable. Also always optimize your browser like clearing the cache and history and deleting the cookies because he we are browsing to the internet, it uses disk space in our computer and it stack up thats why we need to free some space. Also, third party security softwares and firewalls will make your slow connection really slow or worse it can block you visiting websites. Also be sure that there are no running applications or programs at the background at the same time. Remember that the computer can only perform at a certain multitude of tasks at a time.

try throttle.. it will increase your connection speed by increasing the multiple parallel connection.. hope it helps u ... Bye
