Anyone encountered this kind of situation before?

2 months ago, I signed up for a fitness centre membership and I paid by credit card 12 months interest free installment plan. However, until today, I still haven't seen the amount being charged to my credit card. Previously I also did installment plan before, but never met with this kind of situation before. I do not know why this would happen. I wish to get a clarification from the bank but my friend told me since they don't charge us, then we should just ignore them until they charge me. Another friend of mine also told me that if I close my card now, then they will not be able to charge me forever? Is it the case? Anyone encounter this kind of situation before? Please advice.
