Discalimer : I am not a spy for the microsoft corporation and the information you give me will not be used in a courtof law to incriminate you. Well to answer my own question ,I am not using a genuine windows operating system,I am actually using a version that my friend has given me and I must admit that it is giving me hell. This is due to the fact that after a couple of uses my machine keeps crashing and only giving me a white screen from which the only option is to buy a genuine copy . Are you using a genuine copy of windows and if so how do you get around the constant crashing of teh operating system

I am using original windows Vista in my laptop but in my computer XP is not genuine one, but I make sure that genuine check validator shouldn't be downloaded from the Microsoft site.. Actually all wish to buy genuine windows but after every six months we need to format the machine by any reasons like virus or updates or any other means..

My husband bought me a laptop and it came with a genuine version of Vista and so far I’ve had no crashes (touch wood!) My desktop PC came with a disc for XP and that is also genuine. I don’t how to correct the problem you are experiencing aside from reformatting as raymondharig suggested. Good luck!

Well, yes I am a Genuine Software user as well. And I recommend you to use it. For now, using Pirated versions isn't much of a problem as we all know its not an easy task to charge billions of people for piracy!! But, in future they may come out with new ways, like inspection and all to sue offenders!! Like the other day, a lady was charged 1.92 million $ for downloading a copyrighted music!! Its breathtaking!!

my laptop vame with genuine windows vista home premium, and it has never crashed on me in 6 months(knock on wood) the prblem with your machine is you downloaded the malitious software removal tool from microsoft update, and you were shut down, the only way around this is to re-install your operating system, and next time, avoid the malitious software removal tool update like the plague, and don't do the genuine advantage check,if i were you i would turn off automatic updates all together,

I think mine is genuine. I have not had any problems at all with it. I also have a disc to reinstall it if I should ever have a problem with it. Do you have one of those also? Sorry you are having problems.

Yes, I use a genuine XP version of windows that I purchased and I don't have a problem with my system crashing. My XP version is constantly upgraded automatically. I would suggest that you purchase your own XP and then subscribe to the updates. I think you will be happy that you did.

Yes, I am. When I bought my laptop, the windows operating was already installed. In other words there is already a pre installed operating system for windows. I really have not encountered any problem with it. The unit also comes with a disc recovery just in case I have to reformat the laptop. Well, so far, it has been smooth sailing.

I have legitmate copies of both XP and vista. I figure that I'd rather just buy the the legit copies and have tham work rather than dealing with the issues that a borrowed or copied version of the xp and vista will cause. My os doesnt constantly crash.

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji, It is almost getting into two years, when my present Lap top got crashed and it was all due to the fact, that I did not install genuine 'Ant-Virus' and always used to trouble and harmful. So one day, I got everything cleaned and alonwith a genuine Anti-Virus package (Norton), it is working fine, to full of my satisfaction. There has not been any problem so far. May god bless You and have a great time.

If you are using XP, it does automatically checks authenticity. That's why you are getting the crashes. If you can get ahold of a copy of Windows Millenium you'll find that will run all right. alternatively, buy a genuine copy of XP.
