Well a few weeks back, i was away at my girlfriend for the night and when i came back, my parents were in the kitchen watching the TV. I took some salami out of the fridge and started slicing it as i was hungry and i was going to it, when all of the sudden i see with the corner of my eye something big at my food moving - i should mention that we have NO animals in the house - so i got real scared and took 1 step back immediately. Both mom and dad started laughing, as it was only a cute little white fluffy rabbit !
My mom is a teacher and she borrowed the rabbit from a neighbor for her inspection at school, to have a class about animals.

Ever got scared of something totally innocent even if it was a critter, or a situation you didn't understand properly ? Do share...[/b]

I staggered out of bed in the middle of the night and almost crapped my pants when I saw another person in the bathroom with me. It was of course myself in the mirror! And the sad thing about this is that I've done it on more than one occasion! I damn near have a heart attack each time too. I've also been swimming in the ocean at night before and almost walked on water just because of the moonlight making strange shapes in the water.

Yep, I sure have! It happened about a year ago, I think. While I had been in my yard I had put a small stick in my pocket (I'm pretty sure my youngest son had asked me to save it for him, though for the life of me I can't remember why). I just knew I'd forget about the darn thing. Sure enough, while I was watering the yard, something caught the corner of my eye. I just about jumped out of my skin! I thought it was some sort of bug, but it turned out to be that little stick. Whew! Boy, was I relieved! I ended up laughing at myself for being so silly! LOL

Sure! When we see-or think we see-something unexpected it's bound to frighten us a little.
Occasionally I'll see things from the corner of my eye, just out of my range of vision. A quick movement, or the tip of a cat's tail going around the corner...this has happened all my life and I used to be scared but now I accept it. Sometimes I even see a small shadow running up the stairs and I know it's my little phantom kitty. It seems to have settled in here and appears more often than ever.
Now, about real things...I can't remember the last time something real and solid scared or startled me.

We went to visit some friends one evening. The wife brought in some food and the husband went into the kitchen to get plates. We heard a bit of banging around and swearing so all went to see what was wrong... he was slapping the shelf and asking where all these ******* little beetles had come from. They had come out of the cake his wife had just cut... and were currants! The more he'd slapped at the shelf, the more the "currant-beetles" jumped around.

Hi elitess,
Ohhhh! you are such big baby lol, but I can't talk as once I was watching something, can't remember what it was but there was snakes in in, all, I was just sitting on my settee watching this programme when all of a sudden something brush my legs, I jumped up screaming, it was my cat, his tail just brushed my legs as he was just about to settle by my feet, the poor little thing ran off into the hall way thinking he has done something wrong, I had to say sorry to him and give him a good cuddle.
