Now that it is already summer here in US, I observed that there are lots of ants around. It makes me upet looking everywhere specially in our kitchen area full of ants. I sprayed insecticide on them, but they will again come back in a few days.
I wonder what did you use in getting rid of your nats that it will not pollute the environment too? Sometimes I don't like to use insecticides because I know it is harmful even to us. I hope you can share with me your ideas.

Hello friend. Try putting something that they attracted so much or something sweet taste and put it on a certain corner away from your kitchen so they could just focus themselves on a certain place with something they've like most.
Remember even the smallest living thing has the right to live. Be kind to animals....

Cucumbers! Apparently cucumbers are a natural ant repellent! Leave cucumber peels around areas that are heavily populated with ants and the ants should go away! Also, if there's a hole somewhere that you can see a lot of ants from outside coming into, then place cucumber peels near the hole to prevent the ants from coming in your home!

It is good information that cucumbers' peels help drive away those ants at home. I am glad to have learned this useful information. So this is a really environment-friendly way without using insecticide. I will remember this and try it if ants happen to pay a visit to my apartment. Thank you for the helpful information, trikiwoo.

Apparently the ants want something in your home, I know that ants will not cross a salt line so if you can corner them and lay down some salt they won't go over it but they will try to find a way around it. I wouldn't worry about killing them and hurting their thriving species, check with a local exterminator for some home remedies.

Ants will carry cornmeal or instant grits back to the queen and she will eat it, which will cause her stomach to swell up and she will die. Ants also don't like the smell of cucumber rinds so, if you know where they're coming in, try putting some of that there. I've also read about vinegar and baking soda but I'm not sure abuot that one so you should probably check.

Chalk - They will move away from any chalk line.
Corn meal - They can't digest the stuff and die off.
Borax - harmful to ants but not to humans

Hello Bebs. One of the ants' natures is that they love something sweet. If they smell something sweet, they will follow the trace to it and more will come because they always come or work in groups as their team work. So I am wondering whether you had dropped something sweet on the floor that invited so many ants in your house? If we could find the major reason, then there is an easy way out. Good luck to you, friend.

You already received some really great advice. I also try and trace back to where they come in. This year we had ants in our second floor bathroom of all places. I still have no idea why they would be there. I cleaned thoroughly several times. It's not like there was any food for them there. Anyhow, when I traced back to where they came in and sealed off that area with some caulk they were gone. A couple years back we had them in the kitchen and once I sealed off their entrance, they were gone. Of course that requires some observation or laying out something they like so they have a nice line formed for you to trace.

Hi Bebs! Ants!!! Oh that has been my long time problem. I never really have gotten any good solution to ants. They just come and go in my household and I've already gotten used to it. They are now back in my household and like you I can't find any good solution. I am also in search of environmental friendly solution as much as possible. I hope this post of yours will also help me find good tips from respondents.
