Is there ways to save money with a little one along the way?

I know there are some ways to spend less when preparing for a baby or things you can do to save money. Such as, breastfeeding, cloth diapers, yard sales, hand-me-down's, borrowing, but is there other ways to save money? IS there things you NEED and things you can DO WITHOUT when preparing? Is there things you SHOULD NOT buy from a yard sale or reuse?
