Do you make cakes at home?

Oh I just love those pan cakes or the big ones which have lots of chocolate and strawberrys. Do you make cakes at home. Its a fantasy to make good cakes at home with me. I dont know why they are not good as we make at home using all the traditional recipies!

Yes I make cakes at home, they are easy if you measure out the basic ingredients and then when you get more confident you can add your own things and come up with lots of new ideas. I know what you mean though, 9 times out of 10 my pastry is invariably a disaster and ends up in the bin, maybe I just don't have enough patience for it even though I use a recipe.

I definitely prefer to make cakes at home. I don't like store-bought cakes, and I don't particularly like boxed cake mixes either. I have a couple of good, simple cake recipes that are hard to screw up (wacky cake, applesauce cake) as well as a couple of "gourmet" type cakes that are great for special occasions (champagne cake, white chocolate cake). The keys to baking a good cake are: 1) Follow the recipe exactly! Make sure the measurements are right and don't make substitutions unless you know what you're doing. 2) Practice. Most people don't get their first cake right. I sure didn't!

Are you talking about pan cakes (like griddle cakes) or cakes like chocolate layer cakes? I like to make both. I don't make pan cakes very often, but once in a while I get in the mood to make them. They are kind of fun to make. But now you can buy them frozen and put them in the microwave for a minute and a half and they are done, but they are not as good as the fresh made ones.
If you are talking about other kinds of cakes like chocolate layer cakes, I make them every so often, I make them for birthdays and such or if company is coming. I don't often make them for no reason. But I do enjoy making them.

I love to make cakes myself, especially make cakes in micro-wave which is the most simple way to make cake. To make delicious cakes you need to have some skills and experience which requires you to cook many times and repeat again and again.

I dont know how to bake cake, but i am hoping soon i will be learn it. As for now i just make pan cake for our breakfast, hope i can make the real cake with different flavors on it. And also i am lack of things to use thats why its hard for me to bake a cake but maybe someday i will bake one for myself and gladly to share it to you.
