I've been unemployed for a long time now, when I lost my job I tried really hard to find a new one for months, but I had no luck in landing one....so I gave up and went to school instead,,,,well now I'm trying to look for a job again because most of my classes are online,,,I have a few that I'm going to submit applications for tommorow, and I'm very stressed and nervous because every time that I don't get a call back, it definitely makes me feel bad and feel like a failure, my boyfriend also puts a lot of pressure on me to get a job....how do you feel when trying to get a job?

I know what you mean about it getting to an unhealthy level, i already talked about how my boyfriend gets on my case about it, he and i have a up and down relationship and there have been many times that he just has made me so worried that I'm not making any money that I lose sleep over it, and I cried too sometimes because I just felt like such a failure because he made me feel that way :(

I can totally sympathise with you spicy, for I too am looking for a job, as mine finishes next month. I am not even young, so I'll have more problems finding a job. Its really very frustrating. My son has just graduated and here in India, jobs for freshers are very rare, so even he is having a problem. He too keeps going for interviews and no result upto now. I guess I'll take up classes for medical transcription and then do that online. I feel scared online for all the scams, and when you are tight financially, to lose money to scams is very hurtful. Good luck and God bless. Hope for the best and keep faith.

I know what you mean about being scared about online colleges, I'm very lucky that my online classes are from a local community college that I already go to for in person classes, but before I enrolled in this college, i had considered turning to a totally online college but I was lucky that I have a community college so close by...but a lot of the online colleges are very legit and not scams so I hope and think that the best for you and your son will come

I will be stressed when looking for a new job, because I haven't worked for few years. I creat my own little shop near my house, but the I have to close it for the poor earning. Since then, I have been working at home. Recently, my online business is not good, so I wanna look for a new job out of home, but I am quite anxious about it.

Oh Im sorry to hear about your business going under These times are just really rough, and maybe you feel the same way, but part of my anxiety of re-entering a job is because I haven't done it for a year, i'm nervous about how I will adjust...but your experience of running a shop should be so helpful in finding a job so I think you will do well

hello spicysweetie, It's just normal to feel that way especially that you're trying to find one and even enrolled again but still. But don't lose hope, maybe because the economy is still recovering. Who knows, you can find one pretty soon. Just keep on submitting your credentials, you'll never know. My job now since I graduated from college is still the company I'm working with till now. Thank GOD, I still have a job. They layed out much last year due to global crisis but now the company is now hiring for it's already picking up. Keep on trying.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and that's great that you still have your job even through all of the lay offs, that must mean you are one of the best so good for you and I can just really hope that someday I'm in your shoes

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you already found a job right now. I remember it was not a good feeling for me when I looked for a job in the past. I had to go to have interviews in different places. And I was questioned by many bosses when I had the interviews. And when the weather is not so well, it is terrible to go out to look for a job. Good luck! I love China

Hey, Well I sort of get stressed when I am looking for a job, but right now I am not really stressed out. Well I still live with my parents, so that is why I am not stressed out. But I really need to find a job, I need to become independent. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

lol I get frustrated when you go to interview and they ask stupid questions that have nothing to do with what you applied for,and when you answer they have a pen and paper and wring things down after you answer them, what is that????????And who do they give it to?Or are they just bored?

i do not stress over looking for a job but i hate the interview process. i just want to say to the person behind the desk who is usually younger than me, "look. let's just drop the pretense. here is what i can do, here are the hours i can work. how much does the job pay? what are the hours/ and what does the job entail?" but you cannot be that way so you have to answer their tedious questions and sell yourself and kiss up to them and then hope you get the job which always entails way more work then they let on and they always forget to mention that they may ask you to stay later than your scheduled time and when you say you can't they get an attitude and say you are not a team player. i hate the whole thing and wish i could find a way to work for myself but i cannot think of anything that matches my skill set to do on my own.

I get very stressed especially in this time because they are so hard to come by! I was laid off 3 months ago and have been activily looking for work since the day I go laid off. It's so frustrating to send resume after resume and hear nothing. Probably mostly due to scammers taking advantage of the people looking so hard. I think was is so stressful is knowing I need to a job to survive and how limited they are now a days.

Looking for a job at any age, while in school or not--can be very stressful. And added stress from family or a boyfriend makes it even more stressful. I have been at my job for 4 yrs. I hate it. I cant leave because I KNOW there isnt much out there right now. I had 2 jobs up until about a week ago. I finally quit my 2nd job. I would have gone there full time and quit this crappy job but it pays almost half what I make at my full time job.....it sucks. I'm sorry you are stressed. I wish you luck.
