Do you support PETA? Or do you think their actions are a bit extreme?

As you all may be knowing PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)is always in the news for trying to protect the rights of animals.
But do you agree with their claims??
Actually I do support PETA.I have also enrolled myself as a PETA member in their site. But I do not actually agree with them in every thing they say.In some matters I think they are just crossing the line.I think they are just making a fuss of something very less important when there are a lot of other substantial matters to cover.
But I do agree with them in a lot of matters especially those preventing violence against animals like preventing mass slaughtering etc. They are a very good group but I think they are really doing a good job except I think for a few occasions(well this is strictly my opinion).
So what is your opinion about it?

I am also an online member of PETA... Yes, I agree with PETA in some ways... I totally disagree on becoming a vedgie, cause I believe some animals are created to be a food like chicken and pig, but let's just don't torture them before killing... I love animals...

I think that most people would like to see animals treated well, but PETA is an organization founded and driven by fanatical people with a fanatical agenda that very few will agree with. Their recent objection to Obama swatting a fly shows just how much of a lunatic fringe they can be.
I can stand behind them when they say that animal testing by chemical companies should be banned. We certainly have enough knowledge of chemicals to know whether a hair spray is dangerous to human eye sight without having to spray it in some bunny rabbit's eye. But PETA has to go too far and say that we shouldn't use any animal in any kind of testing, not even medical testing that can save human lives.
They don't just object to the way animals are slaughtered, they want to force everyone to stop eating meat. Well, I think that if they exposed inhumane methods of slaughter and tried to get support to force companies to change those, then a lot of people would get on board with them. But no, they have to call all meat-eating people terrible names and try to make us think we are criminal and evil.
My real problem with animal activists is that they usually care little for their fellow human beings. They would turn out in droves to save a whale but care nothing about situations where people are endangered. Sometimes it's right to choose a person over an animal. They would never admit that was so. For that reason, I would never trust my health or future to them, and the general population will always see them as freaks and loonies.
