Don't we all. :) Well I was just reading a discussion asking why they don't get responses and it reminded me of the hundreds of other discussions that are asking the same question. Have you ever been at a town meeting? If you have then you probably already know what gets the most reaction. The people that start a discussion at a meeting like that about something that really grabs the emotions can really get things going hot and heavy, right? Well the same things work here at Mylot. Don't just start discussion on mundane things, instead think of something that gets people's emotions active and you will get a response. NOTE: I tend to stay away from the topics that can start a heated battle. I started one of those before and made some good cash from it but the stress I experienced responding to really strong emotional responses was more than I wanted to deal with so personally I stay away from the religion and politics. So for me grabbing my readers by the emotions works for me. What do you do to get the most responses to your discussions?

I realized that people here on Mylot choose topics that easier for them to answer or give their comments. Most of them don't want to think hard. The simple post is much more welcome than those complicated ones. I've seen a lot of post that has no comments yet. I also commented on topic that has no response.

I like to look under the discussion with no responses too. I feel like I am helping them a little.

Sometimes its disappointed for me because i got only 4 maximum response to my discussion. I thought to myself that maybe i should be creative or right well, about my discussion i write about my everyday experience but sometimes nothing is interested :( So what i do to earn money here in mylot is just doing respondes to any discussions so far my earning was good. Anyway, i love mylot i always keep coming back here everyday although sometimes i got low earnings i am happy to give my opinions and thoughts on a certain discussion. Happy mylotters =)

I like responding to discussion myself. I do get ideas for my own discussions from discussion I respond to so it not only earns money it also helps me to earn more money.

I still haven't open any discussions that made me earn a lot of bucks. Maybe I don't have that much talent that ,ight grab people's attention and get them to respond to my discussions. Usually, I open topics which I am curious about but thanks for the great tip. I'll probably think about it later when I'm not very much preoccupied and open a googd topic tomorrow and let's see if I can have a top discussion too. :)

I think our discussion only generates money if we comment on the response. But if we let the topic goes without any comments from us, it will generate us nothing. But correct me if I'm wrong, not too sure about it

I think most of us have the same problem. I just start a discussion if something pops into my head and it either earns or get's ignored. :)

My first ever discussion wass my best earner and I am still earning on it now! Wow! It was the question do you prefer coca cola or pepsi and people are still replying to it now! I think that is always a good question as everyone has an opinion on that! I normally just reply to discussions now as there are sooo may with no responses I really wanna reply to everyones but there are too many on here for me to do that on my own! (feel free to help) just go onto no responses and reply to a few and that would be much appreiciated!

That's a question that has strong opinions on each side. Personally I drank coke all day long for 40 years or so but always preferred Pepsi when I was eating pizza. :) I don't drink either now. I finally gave up pop.

Yes you can earn money by starting discussion and getting responses. Not sure what you would earn but I think it's likely 1 cent for each one you respond to in your discussion. You just need one response but then you would only earn for that one response.

What seems to be ironic is that on the discussions that mean more to me, meaning the ones I would like to get more feedback on, I seem to get less! Maybe different things interest me, or maybe it's that I am a very random person! Either way, I think adding tags and putting discussions in appropriate interests helps as well. The other thing that helps is to ask open ended questions and keep the readers engaged.

I completely understand. When I start a discussion I will try to think of what others want to discussion as my own discussion do the same thing, they get less responses. :)

I asked a bathroom question about wet toilet seats and one asking if people thought crab or lobster was too much work. Personally they were not that enticing and don't get people all heated up...maybe wet or messy but I was shocked.

Oh I can't stand sitting on a wet toilet seat, even if it's just after cleaning it, it's just gross. As for lobster, well I love lobster and live on the east coast of Canada where we have a lot of lobsters. Well worth the effort to get them out of their shells.

I have also noticed that discussions that make people give out their emotions get the most attention, especially if it has to do with memories. It works great for both, because usually the only time I start a discussion like that is when I want to know something, and I get so many responses with so many different view points. About those discussions, how do I earn more? lol, I think I've started a few of those myself before, but I guess to be honest there's no way to really tell anyone how to earn more, is there?

Yeah, it's like commercials that show me a picture of a perfect raspberry. They have my attention for the rest of the commercial because it reaches way back to a childhood experience.

hi WebMann, Like your way of guiding mylotters to start discussions and give responses. I am ware of starting discussions with emotions but some responses are incomplete and they are not at all relevant to the topic discussed. But i like the discussions from my interest areas and i love respond to the discussions which touches my heart. But i have seen many new comers in mylot are discussion with no relevance and i am scared by such discussions. Some do post their referral links and i don't know why they don't read rules first before posting on to a discussion. Here in mylot earning is not only the task we involve with but we do help others by giving appropriate response. Hope this way i can help the society right. anyways keep smiling and happy living buddy :)

I think the reason some responses are way off topic is because some of us tend to read the first sentence and just have to respond before reading the entire discussion. I have been guilty of this on more than one occasion. Ohhh did I just admit to that out loud?

Hi Webmann, I was never lucky with my discussion, with lots remaining unresponded, but on monday I hit on the jackpot when I asked a simple question to mylotters on whether they sleep besides their phone or not and I got 116 responses to it. My previous best was 9. Happy mylotting!

I started a discussion asking users what they like or dislike about mylot, and I got 20 responses, much more than I thought I would get. It has pretty much tapped out I think, as I haven't got anymore notifications that I have more responses. that was the only discussion that got that many responses. The others got at least 3 or 4, which is better than nothing. I appreciate all the responses I received, as it lest me know that they thought enough of me to respond. It does take me awhile to come up with a discussion topic, as I don't want to start one that no one will respond to, and it is hard to come up with one that people will be interested in responding to. I try to avoid controversial discussions, as they would just cause friction and probably a lot of arguing and disagreements. I mostly just post responses to discussions more than start my own. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I start discussion quite often that I think are going to do well and they don't do anything at all. I am just left scratching my head wondering why. :)

I don't usually think about the responses that I will get when I start a discussion. I just post whatever topic that I am interested in. If people are interested in it too, then great, but if they're not, then it's also OK. Don't get me wrong, I do want to earn lots of money here, but I just don't want to pretend that I'm interested in something when I'm really not just for the sake of generating a lot of responses.

Good day I start discussion right off the top of my head when I want answers but I do try to come up with good discussion too, I just don't do that great at it. :)

Well, There is a lot of topic discussion right now. I just want to responses and comments for their post discussions. If i get an idea, i just wait a couple days or more that will be post by other myLotter. Making a good topic discussion is rather complicated for me, we should search it first as the guidelines ask for it. Beside i must consider the little amount of responses or ever will be have no response category. Post a response or comment is more simple i think. And, for sure this is including our activities too. We are earn for comments and responses also. More quality our activities, we can earn more money too. This is my thought. Have some nice days

I like looking in the no responses category too. I sometimes find discussion that have no responses but I really like, so I get to help them with a response, which may get the ball rolling for them on that discussion.

Hi, yes we all want to earn more. I guess, I learnt some tips from you today. Now I realise why my discussion is not so favourable to lotters at all. The topic didn't touch them emotionally. That's it! I will think of a good discussion and I'll keep in mind for the danger zone: politics & religion! Thanks WebMann!

I usually begin discussions based on things where I genuinely wish to know the insights of others. Some are based on pure curiosity. I have discovered that when I ask a question based on an interest with high numbers for those also interested in the same thing generate the greater number of responses. I tend to respond to other discussions a lot, too, and am happy with my earnings. Reaching the 500 mark has helped with earnings, too, because I can post pics, which I do quite often. Good topic.
