I had 3 jobs, the first one, I was working at the bank, back office so I just needed to have office casual wear - semiformal; when the big boss come, we needed to be very formal though. The second one, I was working as customer representative, I needed to wear formal clothes because I needed to see clients. And the last one, PI was working at a foreign consulate, semi formal, my boss was pretty nice so he doesn't really care as long as we are presentable.
Would you rather to wear uniform to go to work?
What do you wear to go to work?
Does your company have limit about it?

At my work, we're required to dress up in a smart-casual way; but since we're in a BPO company and we operate at nights (we're in the Philippines and we follow PST), I think it's quite ridiculous that we need to put on "office attires". I understand the concept of "dress-to-impress" or "dress-like-the-boss-so-you'll-feel-like-one", but not everyone owns a car and they need to travel using public transportation. From where I'm seeing it, we become robber-magnets because of this. I prefer that the company would let us come in to work in jeans and sneakers, then maybe, just provide uniform shirts to go with it.

I am a software engineer and our firm is a large counsultation firm.So we have to wear formals on all weekdays except Fridays. This is because we get clients from abroad showing up on any day. So from Monday through Thursday I wear formal pants and a formal shirt.
On Fridays semi-casual is allowed.
So Fridays are much better.

MY work dress code is business casual. We are asked to just be clean and not wear anything with anything offensive on it!

I am free to wear any kind of formal and casual or even denim wear for my job. But it only lasts till I reach my job area. Then I have to revert to the conventional Green and green or light blue and blue top and shorts. Yes! That is because I am an anaesthetist. And once I enter into the Operation theatre I have to follow the dress code and get to wear a mask and a cap. So the joy of wearing cool and trendy fashionable dresses only lasts till the dressing room of the operation theatre. It is my first job and I hope it is the only job I would doing in my life. I like it.

Thankfully i dont have a work dress code.I work in an engineering consultancy firm and it doesnt demands any dress code but yes personally,i think everyone should be dressed presentable for any meetings or any visitors.Sometimes, the way we dress matters a lot and we may loose out clients and business. So the bottomline is wear anything u are comfortable in and yet look presetable for the occasion

I work at a water park and there are different dress codes depending on your position. A frontline land employee has a floral shirt, khaki shorts, and white shoes. A frontline lifeguard has a red swimsuit and a white lifeguard shirt with crocs, sunglasses, and a first aid kit. Supervisors (like me) have to wear white shoes, khaki shorts, and a polo. Yellow for land, blue for security, white for first aid, and red for lifeguards. Managers are the same as supervisors except they can wear any kind of polo they wish. I don't mind the dress code, except it is way too hot to wear polos in such a thick fabric. Plus, we have to tuck them in to our shorts which makes the heat almost unbearable.

from my previous work, I usually wear formal clothes like black/brown slacks and button top.on Fridays, we wear casual clothes.in my current company,I started wearing dresses. we don't have a strict dress code here.as long as you look presentable, even in jeans, it's ok.

I have been working for one call center company for the past 3 years and the first 6 months we we're obliged to wear semi formal. At times I enjoy wearing semi formal because I feel important. But after those 6 months we we're then asked to wear dress down for as lnog as we don't wear slippers to work. The previous job I had I was working as a management trainee but since my aunt owns the company I can wear anything I want.

All 3 jobs you have you work every day? That is so cool so you always bring in some 3 different clothes with you everyday? For us i only have one job and we wear any clothes we have. We don't have a dress code here in our work place. Some people would say that it is better to have a uniform so that we would not worry what to wear. But if we are going to pay for the uniforms it is better not to have one. Because some company will charge big prices on uniforms. :(

I was working in the bank too, also back office. However, we're required to be in formal attire eventhough we do not need to approach to customer. Only recently, we've just started to dress down on Friday, which means we can wear casual attire to work. So for Friday, I always go to work with T Shirt and jeans.

I have had multiple jobs and have had to dress everything from business casual to full formal attire. I now work EMS, and have to wear a uniform. It's not too bad though...I have a polo shirt and cargo pants and combat type boots. One nice thing about wearing a uniform is you never have to decide what to wear!

That's right, I think I would prefer uniform too, save the budget of buying formal suits and stuff. Thanks for sharing! :-)

I work in an office with 22 other people. The dress is semi-formal. M-Th we have to wear slacks, skirts, dress shirts...Fri we can wear jeabs. No cut offs, no shorts and nothing with holes.
