A lot of people choose their laptop and other electronic technique only by the brand. By choosing a famous brand, most people define their social status. But is famous and expensive equal to better quality and endurance or only a symbol for something? Do people often forget or look over the fetures of a product, if it comes by a famous brand? What do you think? Also would you ever buy a non-famous brand laptop with equally good qualities?

i have a Toshiba as well, an m305d-s4831. i went to office depot and saw this on the shelf, it was on clearance and the sticker said 850$. when i got to the counter they gave me a 100 in store rebate, and told me there was a 1050$ mail in rebate. all together cost me 600$, so i went and bought a new 500gig hard drive for it on newegg.
but to answer your question, the brand had nothing to do with my purchase. it was cheap and i had the extra cash. and yes, i would buy a non famous brand, if it was cheaper.

I have been using a Toshiba laptop for some time now, and I am very happy with it. It works very well, without any problems. I take it along on my travels to so I can work on my business papers, and keep in touch with my office back home.

If money was not a problem - definitely a FUJITSU. I loved that laptop. A lil bit on the expensive side - but well worth the money. I was an engineering student doing some major design work using AutoCAD. Mannnn, what great graphics!! And the laptop doesn't even look or feel fancy - it's fast, got great graphics (and the Fujitsu screen - WOW! - almost like blu-ray) - what a great laptop.
Unfortunately - it got stolen. =/
Of course I was devastated. Up to now, I cannot buy a laptop because I just want a fujitsu that I cannot afford. So I stick with my desktop. I don't really need a laptop at this point anyway.
