Kissing is very common here in the states. Especially the older generation, they kissing a lot at the public park, malls, even restaurants. Some younger couples won't show their affection that much in the public though. Is that rare?

I know kissing is very common in the USA. But old generation is doing it more than the younger generation is a news to me.

Yeah, i do it from time to time. It can be a bit of a thrill to do it knowing that there are others watching you. Best to have long passionate kisses, not just a little quick nip.
I understand that there are places where this is frowned on, and some places where it is even illegal. I don't see anything wrong with it myself.

In the US, it's actually pretty common. We call it PDA; Public Displays of Affection. It's especially common with younger people (teens) rather than adults. A lot of people frown upon kissing in public, considering it being "rude" and disrespectful of those around them.
I am torn on this, though. There are a lot of different factors, including the location, and not to be weird - but the TYPE of kiss. Firstly, a little smooch is definitely different than a make-out session. A kiss on the cheek or quick (tongue-less) kiss on the lips is as common to couples as waving goodbye or saying hello. It's almost an expression in itself, and I think that's acceptable. Although, I think that sometimes, PDA is totally inappropriate, wrong, and rude - such as in school, work, a library, or somewhere where you're expected to follow certain rules under certain authority figures. If you know your school/work/library ettiquite, you most likely wouldn't be doing that. Another thing that factors in is who is aruond you at the time. Obviously, if there are 5 year olds playing right next to you and your boyfriend/girlfriend, it's not an appropriate thing to do.
I can't lie, though, of course I've kissed in public before! Definitely. At the park, while camping, at an amusement park, in a car, etc. I don't think there's anything wrong with it so long as you don't go OVERBOARD and so long as it's acceptable for the setting that you're in.

well, i m also from india and i dont see anything wrong with kissing in public. I love my girlfriend, and me showing her how i feel is more important than what people will think about me. In fact public displays of affection are quite an important part of the relationship. I have never hesitated from kissing in public, i dont think anyone else should either.
In india people say that we shudn do that cuz its disrespectful to elders. how on earth is it disrespectful? kissing is the most beautiful way of expressing your love. a thousand words cant say wat a kiss can say.
and im quite sure there was a lot of kissing [among greater things] goin on when our forefathers were busy pushing our population beyond the billion mark.

In our country, the Philippines where traditions and norms are highly observed and women are raised to be conservative, kissing should not be done in public places. I personally does not want to do a Public Display of Affection (PDA) with my partner but I am not against those who do it in public since we are in a democratic country and we have different ways of expressing our love for our partners.

We, Filipinos, don't usually kiss in public places. It's against our culture. We have a very conservative and traditional norms and ever since we were kids we were taught by our elders that we must behave decently in public, and kissing is not an exemption.

I have kissed and been kissed in public, and I think a short kiss is fine, but I would never make out in public, especially where children were present. Some people find it offensive. The most intimate kinds of kisses I reserve for private times.

Kissing in public is a mutual understanding between two person. There is nothing wrong in it unless other gets problem of feel uneasy. Showing public affection is different but kissing in public is an individuals choice.

Hi, I married to an Indian and now moved to India. Living here and it's a year now. I kissed my husband in public places. Places that I can remember is, airport(before departure & after arrival), restaurants when we cherish our lovable moments, in the park and ect.
Ofcourse, we practice the decent kiss to avoid the public to stare at us. Answering to your discussion, Yes, I kiss my husband in public.

I don't have a boyfriend so I wouldn't know! But if I did I don't know if I would. I'm painfully shy so I doubt it but maybe on a whim. I have seen other people doing it though and they sure look like they are doing nothing wrong and having a good old time!

I do as long as it's publicly acceptable kissing. The sort that looks like you are going to ingest the other person is best saved, in my opinion, for the moments when you're behind closed doors with your blinds shut in case you have nosy neighbors like I do.
