I'm fairly new to My Lot, and I still don't quite understand the whole ranking thing. For example, it said I was number 17,000 out of 23,000 in some category. Is this based on number of posts in that category? Also, what are the stars with numbers along people's names? How do I see what my rankings are? THANKS!

Hello cbantly, the ranking system is based on the + and - which you receive for your started discussions, given responses and comments on the responses to your discussions. To get a better rating it is necessary that you really write good quality discussions, responses and comments. In this case i will give you a + (like you got just now for this discussion). On the next day the ranking will be refreshed and you will see a rank in the "mylot.com" category. My ranking is at the moment around 2.300 that means i did quite well in this category but it takes now a while to get into the top 100, perhaps you could help me by testing the rating system of mylot. We are encouraged to rate every helpful response/discussion/comment. Look for this in the FAQs or in the guidelines (at the bottom of the page). The star is similar to the internal category rankings. It has effects on your earnings, too. The higher the star number, the better for you. That means it's always good when you write long quality responses like i did just now for you. You will see your star rating when you reach 100 points... just 39 points to go. You get points for each started discussion (if someone give you a response) and each response to other member's discussions. For comments on your own discussion you don't get points, BUT you earn additional money! Good luck for the future success in mylot... i got paid already once in March with 17 $!

Thank you! Your response helped out immensely! Now I'll just have to hit that 100 points today! I'm working a 24 hour shift and we haven't run a single call yet, so I'm a little bored!

You don't get your star until you have reached 100 posts. and the star you get and the number will depend on how other users have ranked you for your responses to discussions. As long as you post quality responses and comments to your discussions and you will get a good ranking, however it really doesn't matter all that much when it comes to your earnings. I have never worried to much about the ratings. I started with a 4 and I had it so long, it staring growing on me . I finally started posting new discussions, and that helped as it jumped right up from the 4 to a 6, and now an 8. I am happy with my ratings now, and if it doesn't go up, then that is ok, and if it does that is great. You just keep dong what you are dong, and your ranking will be high by the time you get your star.

Hello cbantly, thanks for the best response some weeks ago. Seems like you reached already the first goal in myLot - 100 points and like i see now you have a high quality star point ranking of 94! This can earn you quick and good money as long as you write more than eight full lines for each discussion, response and comment. With this "trick" i earned a lot in the past and now and i guess in the future, too . Hope to see you soon in one or more of my famous discussions!
