Cooking OR Eating at Restaurants?

Most people think cooking takes too much of their valuable time and is too difficult and exhausting. It is easier for them to eat at restaurants - the local fast food, pizza place or chinese. But I think this is not the best solution, because it is expensive and not healthy. What do you think? Do you prefer cooking?

Cooking and eating is the best way to remain healthy.. You know exactly what is the taste of food you are looking forward to eat. Yes , you might take a little long to cook and eat but if you do that you know for sure that the food you are eating is healthy. You know exactly which ingredients have been put in the dish while cooking so, less risks of any alergies to be activated.
So cooking and eating is the best policy to have a longer healthier life.

I definitely love cooking up a storm! Cooking is a wonderful activity as I get to create different type of dishes. I love trying out recipes from different cultures (although finding the ingredients might be difficult). And I especially adore whipping up anything that has chocolate as an ingredient. I think cooking is only time consuming because of the preparation. It does take awhile to peel, cut and clean. I rarely eat at restaurants as it is expensive especially for one. But I do occasinally crave for fast food like McD's or KFC .

I completely agree with you. While cooking, there is a lot of health consideration like adding vegetables, using less oil etc which makes home food more healthier. Eating out once in a while is good as it gives u a break and helps you relax giving you an oppurtunity to try dishes that you haven't tasted before.

i would still prefer cooking if i have time because like what you've just said, dining out is pretty expensive and most of restaurants uses MSG which is bad for the health.

I love cooking! I'm still learning, but I am loving it... especially when I get praised for my cooking or when they ask for my recipe. Also, I agree with you sunscreen, when dining out, we really don't know how the food was prepared. Who knows, their preparation might not be that sanitary. :Þ

I think it's strange that people think it takes less time to get ready, drive to a restaurant, find a table, order a meal, wait for it to be cooked and brought to them, than it is to make a hot sandwich or cook spaghetti and make a salad or to open a few cans at home. Those things are not "cooking from scratch" which is a lot cheaper, but they're a whole lot cheaper than eating out and they don't take nearly as much time.

You know, I have to laugh at people who eat out every day for lunch and then complain that they're broke. It's like they don't even realize how much money they could save by going to the grocery store and getting some food to make their own lunch. Don't get me wrong, I love to go out to eat once in a while. But I would say that 99.9% of my food intake is from home-cooked food. I enjoy cooking, and I think that it actually takes less of my time than going out. I can cook a good dinner in half an hour. If I go to a restaurant, it will take me about half an hour to get there and back, and at least an hour waiting at the table for menus, drinks, food, etc. Before you know it, your whole night is gone!

I am not good at cooking. I can only prepare some breakfast, fried eggs, french fries, boil water for coffee, toast bread. That's about all I know to do. So, for lunch and dinner, I go to nearby restaurants. Fortunately, there are a number of very nice restaurants near where I live. Yes, you are right, does gets pretty expensive. But, I have no choice !!

I hate cooking, or I hate the "I have to find something to cook" part of cooking... I like to order out once a week, but when it comes to cooking during the winter I use my slow cooker alot... so I put everything in it in the morning and dont have to think about it... then in the summer we bbq alot... so again, I dont have to think about it.
It is unhealthy to eat out so much especially the fast food restaurants and we probably eat out more than we should but it is just convenient for right now... I have been trying to cut back on it and eat in more... but I also hate grocery shopping!!
Happy mylotting!!

I like cooking better then eating out. Its way to expensive and on top of it its not healthy for you. Cooking is not really hard it can take time but if learn to prepare ahead of time it will save time when you get home from work. The night before you bread the cutlets or cut the veggies. There are also alot of 30 minute meals that you can make. Tonight we are making homemade pizza. We will save alot by making it instead of ordering it in.

I always cook at home, any kind of dishes, like fried food, vegetable dishes, salad, cakes, sweet cookery, soups, it is a fun experience and affordable, sometimes we eat in restaurant if we have occasion and gathering, i love to experience to eat in any restaurant that i never been too, to taste the different food.
