I had a friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area. She was always concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to try and rob her when she was counting the collection from Sunday.
She asked the local police department about using pepper spray. The police department at that time suggested she use wasp spray. The wasp spray they told her can shoot up to twenty feet away and is alot more accurate, while pepper spray they have to get to close to you and could maybe overpower you.
The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until the get to the hospital for an antidote.
She now keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract any attention from people like a can of pepper spray would.
She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection.
Thought this was interesting and maybe you would too......

That is very interesting that wasp spray could be used to protect yourself from not only the wasps but also people.I always have fly and wasp spray at mine even in the winter months and thinking about it with all the crime now adays i think every home owner should have a can. Thanks for letting us know.Happy Mylotting.

Thank you so much for your response jugs, and I think you are right. Although this is a product that we tend to keep around in the summer, no one would think of buying extra to have in the wintertime to use for protection.
The way things are going anymore, I don't think anyone is safe and with the economy getting the way it is I believe crime is just now starting to be on the rise and will definitely get worse before it gets better.

Hi Karen,,and this would most definitely be a good thing for your daughter to carry with her, especially working at night.
I use to work the night shift and I just hated walking across to the door in the dark. whether there was anyone there or not you always felt like someone was watching you. Use to give me the heebie jeebies..LOL
It definitely got me to buy and extra can as I am by myself alot in the evening because of the work my husband does.
Glad I could help so many with this info.

I think this is a very good discussion. I have used the wasp and hornet spray, and it is accurate, and even if it did not blind an attacker, it would so absolutely take one by surprise that they would just give up. It does indeed shoot accurately up to twenty feet away.

Yes, GardenGerty, I do believe it would take them very much by surprise and make you unforgetable for awhile too!!
That's ok....if they want to mess in where they don't belong then they deserve what they get.
Thank you so much for your response.

yes I thought it was very inteesting also.
I would have never thought in a million years to use wasp spray to deter a robber or mugger .
Wonder how many people will be buying wasp spray for this purpose now? lol
Thanks so much for your response.
