I use FRISK software, F-PROT antivirus for all my computers, both for work and private use. I have tried Norton, McAfee and many others but FRISK is the only one that doesn't interupt other programs on my computers and still works. I started using it about 5 years ago and haven't had a single problem with viruses since.
FRISK is an Icelandic software but available internationally. You can get a free trial from www.f-prot.com. They are also looking for beta testers if you are interested in that.

I am using AVG Free Edition.. why? because its free to download, and it only consume few memory.I seldom use norton anivirus, because it consume large amount of memory...specially during start-up/boot-up.It's not advisable to use norton for slow computer..If you want to use norton better upgrade ur PC..
