This is a pain every time my pc auto shutdown. I have a norton 360 anti-virus but there's no avail. I try to reformat it and once again it goes back to its bad habit. Is there any other reason why my laptop do this act and also how can i prevent this problem or solve it from the rest of my laptop life.

Hi, if it is a desktop pc then it will be easier to solve it. But it is your laptop. Actually this kind of problem not only cause by software problem. I think it is your laptop hardware failure. Such signs are always your power supply not enough power or your motherboard got a bit problem. Try to clean up your latop. Remove all the dust you can see. Put a cooler fan on it. It will shutdown if over heat also. If you be able to uninstall your laptop housing then u try to clean up your processor and graphic fan. Hope this can help you. Happy Mylotting!!!

Hi, me again. Can i know what windows are you using? If you are using Windows Vista then maybe some software will crash it. Bu if windows xp should be no problem. My suggestion is bring your laptop to the service centre to check it because it is still under warranty.

I don't think if your Norton is updated then your system have any virus, but from just these details can not come to any conclusion, have to know that it shut down itself on particular time or after start particular application? after restarting is there any message comes that your system was shut down unexpectedly? Please share that log file or error message, it will be more helpful..

Shutting down varies. It wont give you any clue when it shutdown. Sometimes i put a gap between my laptop so air transfer continually on the bottom side. But lately my laptop crashes and restore point is my one way problem solver.

Is there any compatibility issue on your software's installed in your laptop? Because if some of the software are not compatible it will surely autoshutdown. and check if you add some new hardware or new tech. in your laptop. If this does not solve your problem you can always ask for help from the manufacturer of your laptop.

I cannot tell from here why this is happening to your laptop but one thing I want to tell you that norton products create lots of problems on the pc. I think you should try to use another anti-virus like kaspersky or quick-heal rather than norton. I once used norton anti-virus and it gave lots of trouble to me. I had to re-install my operating system because of it.
