you do experiment on new dishes or always cook the same dishes?

My officemates were complaining how the food in our office is always the same, like 4-5 dishes that is being rotated every week. They are getting tired of eating the same dishes over and over again. I don't cook so I don't really complain much, but for those who cook, do you experiment on new dishes so that your spouse, kids or family do not grow tired of what you cook or do you just cook the same dishes that you are familiar with? is it because of the lack of time to prepare?

I think its good to experiment with new dishes especially when you have enough time in your hands, that way, you are assured that your family members enjoy the food you cook. Sometimes, no matter how good the dish, if it is served too often, it loses its being special. Hope, I can find the time to learn new dishes like you.

I do experiment with new dishes and that too a lot but under my moms guidance so that I don't create a mess and spoil everybody's health! I and my mom try out the new dishes we watch in the sunday cookery show whenever we get time from our studies and office. Its feels divinely satisfactory when a new experimental dish is cooked well and every one in the family praises it. Time is surely an issue but somehow we manage to get time because the male members also help out in other household work whenever a new dish is being prepared!
