What do you love about your mom?

I love absolutely everything about her! Her strength, her ability to make me feel better about almost anything that happens in my life, her faith in God, her neverending love, her laugh, her smile, the bond we have, etc etc! I don't believe there's anything I truly don't like about my mother.
She's always there for her family, though sometimes its hard for us all to stay on the same page, she loves us all equally and never stops proving it to us.
She's a hardworker, and though sometimes her job isn't the best, she still goes into work, knowing that her family will be taken care of... between God's financial support and the blessings of still having a job after all she and her work family have been through.
There have been so many trials and storms we've gone through (look at my blog "our journey" for more details). But she has been the rock in this family. I don't see how she can get up at 2am each morning, and stay at work till 3pm, and still run this house, sometimes as well.
She always amazes me when paying the bills... she pays them, sends them on their way, without a worry or care about what to do when the checking account hits zero! Yet, it never does. Her faith in God is stronger than I've ever seen it. :)
A little bit about my mom's story, and testimony.
She was born in the Delta of Mississippi. Met my daddy in college, loved him so much, she married him twice, the first time having my brother, and the second, blessed with a daughter = me! She went from being a special ed teacher, to a assistant teacher, to a special needs teacher, to an assistant manager at a convenient store, to full time manager! She's a mother, a friend, a wife and a daughter.
A mother, when her kids are faced with things that they are unsure about. She laughs, cries, and comforts them. When we argue, it doesn't take but 2 mins for us to apologize to one another. Why? She told me the last time, "We need to stick together," and that is what happens, when this world brings her children down, her strength and faith revives them. She loves them, with an unconditional love.
A wife, though my dad has been through so much, she has stuck with him. Though he isn't the best person to live with sometimes, she won't walk away. She loves him! She held his hand during all the tough times and when she's down or he's down, they cling to one another, trying to help each other through whatever is happening.
A daughter, her parents were both diagnosed with alzheimer's, I believe it was 4 or 5 years ago, but instead of placing them in a home, and just leaving them be. She always makes her way to drive 4 hrs to see them. Though it may take 4 or 6 mos to do so, she always does! She calls to make sure everything is okay. For mother's day, the only thing she wanted, was to go see her mom and dad! So, we granted her wish.
A friend, to all who are friendly to her, even to the ones who aren't. She's a very sweet and special lady.
I wouldn't trade anything for my mom. There was a few trials back in 07 / 08, that we faced with her. Constantly, every month it seemed, she'd pass out.
It all started when we were in the Delta, visiting family, she passed out at a red light. Thankfully, no traffic was coming, and she was fine once we got her back to the hotel room.
Shortly, I'm guessing a few mos later, she was at the bank one day, and passed out right in the middle of making a deposit for the store. She busted her head open. She stayed in the hospital overnight.
They figured it was her heart....
Her next episode, happened at the store where she works. She was getting ready to open, and just like that, passed out. This time it was the top of her head. She had to have staples and stitches. They at first ordered her to go to the doctor, and she did, right after leaving the emergency room. I stayed with her. We were fine, for a few mins, all of a sudden she turns pale, I'm scared, of course, and she touches my arm and says, "They need to get me to a bed," about that time her eyes roll to the back of her head. Me not knowing what to do, rushing to get the doctor, and of course, she was sent back to the emergency room.
They had no rooms available, and as soon as mom was resting... I went to the waiting room and prayed. It had been a while since I prayed. Seemed like back in those days all I did was pray when we were in trouble.
After I prayed, 5 mins later, they were rolling her down the hall. I wasn't going to leave her, and I didn't. She slept that whole night, and was up before me the next day! Bright eyed and bushy tailed lol.
They sent her to a cardiologist. Who gave her a monitor, though nothing came back irregular....
One night we were sitting in their room (mom and dad's). We were talking, mom had said before that she wasn't feeling well. Her stomach felt funny. I was worried, but for a while, she hadn't had an episode.
I looked at the tv and as soon as I looked back at her, all of a sudden her eyes rolled to the back of her head. I shook her "Mom, Mom....", "Daddy call someone!" Finally she woke up. We thought it was her sugar for the longest, so dad checked it. It was fine, a little low, but normal. Finally, we gave her something to eat.
That same night she had to go to the store and get something out of the safe for her assistant manager. She couldn't remember the combination... which had me really worried... along with the fact that she couldn't remember her dog's name!!
She said she was fine though, no need to take her to the doctor, so we didn't.
The next day... we ( my boyfriend, at the time, and I) had just got home from taking her van to the car dealership, to replace the ac. Unfortunately, they didn't, but anyway.
I had to get to work, and he was fixing to head to bed - he stayed up too late the night before and needed sleep - plus, we had just spent.... 11 hrs or more in a car dealership just to be sent home saying "we needed another part". So yeah. Sleep would've done him some good.
Mom ... volunteered to take me to work. I asked her a million times if she was sure, and her reply was always the same, "Yeah, I'm fine."
So she took me to work.
Not even 20 mins after I got here, my boyfriend comes rushing into the cooler (I was a cooler hand at my mom's store), I looked at him, I knew automatically something was wrong. He told me, "Mom is fine, stay calm, you need to clock out, she got in a wreck. Yeah, I felt soooo lovely, and soooo calm.
I stayed calm... clocked out... was fine till we got to the emergency room. In his truck I cried, "Why'd I let her go?! I knew this would happen!"
I finally stopped, and took a breath. (We were waiting on the ambulance to get there).
Mom ... had totalled the van...
She ran over a sign, and right into a barbed wire fence... tearing the passenger side to pieces and axel off the van. But she was fine, bumps and bruises. She had passed out at the wheel.. but she was fine.. talking and everything.
So... they tested her, found out her magnesium level was low. They put her on a magnesium drip, and an iv, for 2 - 3 hrs. I never left her side.
She went to the cardiologist again and her home doctor. Again, everything was fine with her heart, and the home doctor did bloodwork... on everything.
Her bloodwork came back... showing signs of her being dehydrated. Can you believe that... out of everything she went through she was dehydrated?!
The doctor ordered plenty of rest, water, and gatorade!
Now, she hasn't had a episode in almost a year. I pray it stays that way.
But through all of her storms and trials, she has always came out with the biggest blessing and testimony!!
Oh and :) the ac problem... fixed along with her episodes, to this day she drives a red (the same color of the van and her dad's old truck), explorer!!
I love her strength. I love everything about my mom. That's only part of her story.
But I ask you... what's your favorite thing about your mom? If you don't have a mom, whats your favorite thing about the parent/guardian in your life? :) I'd love to hear the stories!! SO COMMENT! :)

Hey,
Whoa, that is the longest post I have ever seen in my entire life. I think that the best thing about my mother is that she brought me up as a single mother for most of my life, she makes the best food, and she is just so loving and caring. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

My mom is overseas right now. She is the most lovable person i know. Everytime i see the image of Mary, i see my mom in her. There was a clip that i watched once, Jesus who was still a child fell on his knees as he was walking when Mary saw this, she left what she was doing and ran to Jesus. She hugged him so tight. All i saw was my mom. Tears began to swell in my eyes and they didn't stop. I miss my mom so much and you know what, as i am writing this tears are already flowing.
Whenever i am down and i just want to cry i hug a pillow and imagine it to be my mom. I could almost feel her hand and her touch. I could hear her voice, her words. I know she went abroad for a reason. Its for my sake and our family.
I could have rebelled years ago, i went through so much hardships. But you know what, whenever im in the midst of actually giving in, i remember my mom and im back on track. She's my light and to her hardwork i offer my whole existence.
