Does your family live near you? Or do you live a distance from your family? Do you get to see each other much? Some of my family is close some of my family isn't very close to where I live. One of my daughters I can see about everyday and the other one I haven't got to see in over a year and she just had her first baby. Talk about missing her a lot. Some times my heart breaks because I can't see her.

Nowadays my family live very near me. I live on the edge of a coastal town, my sister lives near the train station which is two stops from the center and my mother lives nearer the coast. We could walk the distance in about 45 minutes or 5 minutes drive.
In the past I lived in a village three miles south of a historic city. My mum lived one and a half hours drive away and my sister lived two hours drive away. I missed my sister in those days. I was on teaching practice the day her first baby was born. I wasn't able to see them until I was back from university for a holiday.
I hope you see your daughter and grandchild soon.

Its nice to hear you live closer to your family now. Its hard when you live a distance away from your family. My sister I don't see often because I live in Ohio and she lives in South Carolina. But the rest of my family lives like an hour away except my oldest daughter lives 5 hours from me. I miss her a lot.

My step son lives away from us and although he visits weekly his brother (my son) misses him terribly. It is hard as my little guy is 14 months and constantly goes into his brothers room when he is not here looking for him.
My mother and sisters live about 3 hours away. I see them more than I see my husbands parents who live an hour away. My inlaws don't like to drive over to our house. I refuse to go to their house as it is under construction and I don't want the baby around that stuff.

I am sure it is hard on your son for him not seeing his brother. Your 14 month old is very young and he reminds me of my granddaughter. When my daughter lived with me she became pregnant and had her daughter. before she ever moved out her daughter was almost 2 years old. She always ran back to my room every morning when she got up. And I miss them both sense they don't live with me anymore. I understand why you don't want to take your son over to your in-laws with all the mess of working on a house a child can get hurt real easy.

My family is spread out all over. I have 2 daughters to. And if you think your heart brakes now. Just wait. I just had one tell me to stay out of her business. Just for asking what she was doing that day. The other, forgot to hang her phone up after we were talking and she was telling her boyfriend ( in a hatefull way) what I was say. So if that doesn't make you feel unwanted around I don't know what would. The rest of my family live in different states. And now I know, my place. And it's not around family. I don't need to fall off a truck to know that it is ment for me to be alone.

Now that would be very hurtful. Know wonder you hurt. Just wait they will regret every bad thing they said about there parent. But I have never had my children ever do that to me. They have always respected me. I have always taught my kids to be open and honest with me know matter even if it hurts. Sorry you are going through so much with your kids.

i do stay very close to my parents place. Why don't you visit your daughter and grandchild - i understand that she can't be traveling for a few weeks since she is just delivered.
Try chatting with her with a webcam regularly so that you don't feel the distance between you two. Do convey my best wishes to your daughter and grandchild :)

I call my daughter everyday and I love it when I hear her voice and I hear the baby in the back ground. When I hear him crying I just want to pick him up and cuddle him. I wish I had the money to visit my daughter but I don't and she lives 5 hours from me.
