Are your kitchen cupboards full of old stuff?

My hubby was rooting around in my kitchen cupboards yesterday looking for a snack. He came across stuff I had forgotten I bought. Then there was the stale crackers and empty jar of peanut butter. It occured to me that I should use up the stuff I bought and forgot about and I should throw out the old stuff and almost empty then I would have some room. How about you, do you have clean cupboards and know everything in there? Do you use everything before going out for more?

Hey whywiki! I usually go through my cabinets when I am planning a trip to the grocery store which is about once a month! That is for my "big grocery shopping"! I try to take inventory of what I have in the cupboards so I know what I need and what I have to get. It also helps to see what has been there too long and needs to get replaced and thrown out! Most of the time things don't stay in the cupboards long. If I see that things aren't getting eaten then I throw them out and don't replace them! I can't afford to waste money so I am pretty good about keeping track of what I need.

I think I will try that this weekend and use up the stuff that is just sitting there getting old.

I shudder to think how old some of the stuff in my cabinets is, whywiki! They really are overdue for a good cleaning. It's one of those little tasks that many of us like to put off =over and over.

My kitchen cupboard is quite neat because I put everything in order. And I like to put back the stuff in the right place after I use it so it is not messed up.

Oh how I wish I could develop that habit. I am always jealous of people that can keep things neat and orderly.
