can you befriend the one you hate?

I met a girl last year at work, she's the talkative one and I often feel that she's stealing my best friend at work. The three of us are of the same age and I do really feel that she's starting to get my best friends' attention. After few weeks and days though, when my best friend had introduced and inculcate to me that the new girl has just the same characteristics like what we have, I have began to accept that she's really cool.. So for almost a year on September, the three of us have really become good friends until now. We've even traveled abroad! Amazing huh!
