What beauty product do you refuse to use?

What beauty product, whether it be cosmetics, facial cleansers, shampoo's, conditioner's, shaving creams, etc, that you refuse to use?
Why do you refuse to use it?
I refuse to use hair spray, I have and I probably will again so maybe refuse isn't the right word. It hardens your hair, can be hard to get out, and then well...
it stinks, is bad for the ozone layer, and is just silly when you think about it. Mousse goes along with that, I don't use that. I don't wear makeup. In fact I guess you could say that the essentials are all I use. I'm not picky about brands, are you?

i use hair spray on very rare special occasions, like u are part of the wedding entourage and in order to keep the hair in place for a longer duration of time.
what i would never go into is hair rebonding and ironing. i pity the hair of women as i see them undergoing this process in beauty saloons. they do this to straighten their hair. after the long process, u are not supposed to shower for three days, nor sleep on it (u sleep on ur side), and u cannot go swimming in the sea. and if u decide to change ur hairstyle and want to curl it, the hairstylists will really advise u not to do it as it will only be a waste of money because the results will only prove bad and ugly.

So many different products that have harsh chemicals and that use heat, it's bad for the hair. I'm not a fan of hair spray myself. I get by just fine by combing my hair, I used to dye it but don't anymore. I might again, but right now It's just fine! lol! I appreciate the response though it took me forever to get back to you, I'm sorry!

This is a really good discussion baby, and I am sure that a lot of people out there have different opinions when it comes to beauty products and which beauty products they will use and will not use,and I am sure that not everyone uses the same beauty products for one reason or another, and I can understand that everyone is different and that everyone thinks differently, and not a lot of people have the same vies, same opinions, and same ideas, and when it comes to beauty products I do not use any makeups or stuff like that since I am a guy,and I do not use hair spray or anything like that because I think they are a waste of time, and the only things I use are the essentials as well, and I wish more people would just use the essentials because then the world might not be so polluted, and I am not really picky about the brands I just like certain colors, and smells, like I really like things that are either orange or have a citrus smell, and we used to have a lot of things in our bathroom that smelled like citrus but now it seems to be harder and harder to find things in citrus and I do not know why,it is really odd,and it sucks,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I know that a lot of different products pollute the earth and that it's much better to just use one or two things, or try to get combination things like we do with our shampoo and conditioner combo, I think that the dry scalp is shampoo and conditioner combo. I also think that people should try to recycle the cans and bottles more because a lot of the bottles and cans have recycle safe on the logo. I appreciate your response to me, and I love you.

Yeah there are a lot of things that pollute the earth and it is better to only get a couple things or to try and get a combination of things like when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, and yeah the dry scalp shampoo is shampoo and conditioner because it says 2 in 1 on the bottle or least I think it does, and yeah more people should try and recycle bottles and cans because it would make things a whole lot better,I always enjoy responding to you because your discussions are always well written and very interesting to read,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting Baby.

I don't use hair products except for shampoo and conditioner.I don't like using hair sprays.I would rather live with a few unruly strands, rather than have my hair so neat, they don't seem to move out of place even if a strong wind blows into them.I don't like the feeling of my hair being sticky from those hair sprays.

I refuse to use foundation. I think it feels absolutely disgusting, and if it's not applied properly it can look ridiculous. I also won't use self tanners. No matter what kind you use, the color is always too orange and noticeably fake. I'll take pale skin over a fake tan!

I've never understood foundation. Is it supposed to even the skin tone? I think so. Though I've also heard or maybe understood myself, that the foundation was also used to help so that makeup can be removed more easily. Either way, I don't really know, I don't wear makeup. I have in the past, but I don't know that much about putting it on and don't care too. Spray tans are kind of silly looking, though there is a lotion that is supposed to make your skin look tanned. I guess it messes with the melantonin in the skin.

interesting discussion...
well personally, seeing as im a guy, i do not use any make up or anything else on my face for that matter, except for cold creams in winter[my hometown is quite cold].....
bt the rest of the year im outside my hometown in this hell called college, where the temperature goes to 45 degrees C, and the humidity to 80-90%, so facial or any body creams are out of the question, makes it way too sticky....
end up using a lot of deodrants and anti-perspirants[sorry ozone layer, bt i'd rather kill myself than be sweaty n smelly]....
so basically i use facial cold creams in winter, deodrants n antiperspirans, and, oh ya, i also use hair gel...
other than that i dont use anything....

The very basic essentials, I can understand that. Yes, I can also understand that when it's hot, it's a lot better to wear deodorants etc, being sticky and nasty and sweaty really doesn't help when your trying to concentrate or work. Lol.

I refuse to use any type of beauty product that has chemicals in it.
Since the day the demand of organic and mineral beauty products are increasing, I stopped using my beauty products to switch to a different type that does not contain chemicals. Honestly, my skin became softer and the chance to get acne or oily skin is rare.

Organics are said to be a lot better, though they are more expensive. I am sure they are less of a skin irritant because harsh chemicals are absent, just natural plants are used. Though if you know how to grow some of these natural plants it would be cheaper to do so, though I guess what you need to do to it to reap the benefits of the plant would be a different story. I assume some might say to steep it in hot water... etc.

Yes products such as these can be very damaging to the hair and dangerous to the environment!

Too much eye makeup can make a person look very bad, so I have to say I agree with you. Artificial is a good word for it.

I think I refuse to use some sort of whitening mask... I have yellow skin, I would get more yellow after the suntan goes away but it's okay, it will get back to normal slowly but I don't like the whitening mask, I have used couple times before and it hurts my skin, maybe my skin just canoot accept them.

I refuse to use high-priced items, since even dermatologists agree that many of the inexpensive ones do the exact same good job. I cannot use highly scented products, as I am allergic to them due to having asthma. That's about it concerning my guidelines :D

Hi, even i am a person who like to use many beauty products, i never use powder for face, because i have a dry skin, and because i don t need, i have a great face skin, nature help me a lot, and i have a clean face.
I never use produts for hair, as shampoo, hair spray or conditioned....all my life i use my grandmother formula to keep my hair long and clean, and very healthy too, i use just one egg as shampoo for my hair, and i wash it to 3,4 days.
I don t use too lipsticks, i don t like, i use just some mascara, because i am blond and this help me don t be to "white" as my mother say.
So, just a drop of good perfume, mascara, and sometimes , in special days i use some make up.

I have heard of using an egg to wash the hair with, there are so many different formulas for such. How else would the ladies and men from way back have survived with smelling bad? They did something! lol! I appreciate your response, and have to say that the chemicals in today's products can be very bad!

Good for you! Thumbs up to that! I do not blame you in the least, those things do help deplete the ozone layer which is very bad! I appreciate the response.

Hi Somecowgirl
I won't use hairsprays or hair gels. Hairsprays like you said just makes your hair hard and hair gels, in my opinion, do the same only they make your hair hard and sticky. I have really thick wavy hair so getting it in a ponytail is sometimes a challenge unless my hair is blown out but I still won't use either of those products even though it might make doing my hair alittle easier.

I don't use hairspray. It is bad for my hair. I have no problems with other products.
