Oh gosh, now that you mention it, I have had a horrible kitchen accident, it gives me chills haha. When I was maybe 12 or 13 I was in the kitchen boiling peppermint in water because I was going to make bath salts, but anyway, I was getting ready to pour the water into a bowl, so I reached up for the bowl above the stove, having the pots handle towards my body (NEVER do that). Well next thing I know, due to my lack of height, the bowl falls down onto the handle of the boiling hot peppermint water, and the water, all of it, splashes into my face, down my chest, and onto my legs, while the bowl shatters on the ground. I had to fight to get my clothing off because it burned so bad, while stepping on lots of glass. The water had blinded me from splashing and burning my eyes, so I was falling all over the place. The funny or ironic thing is that peppermint is used as a natural remedy for burns haha. I had to go to the emergency room and they treated the burns with lots of cream, gave me lots of pain medication, and wrapped me up on cloth bandages. For weeks I had to wear a sun hat so the sun would not hit the burns on my face, and my hair fell out at my hair line. My vision has not quite been the same after that experience haha. The good thing is that there was no permanent cosmetic damage, though when I get too cold or hot you can kind of see the burn in red on my leg, nothing too noticeable though, I took good care of it. Now it is something that I can laugh about. I am sure over time your burns will go away, it took mine a while too, at least a few months, good luck!

Oil is a very dangerous cooking ingredient if you are not careful. As you know, it gets very very hot. You have to be especially careful when using it. One time when we were kids my mom was cooking french fries. She was tired and threw in a whole bunch of potatoes at one time and the oil spilled over onto the electric stove burner and caused a fire. Fortunately, she was not burned but the kitchen was a mess and it was scary trying to put the fire out. People have to remember to be very cautious while cooking and be very cautious with using candles around the house, especially with little children or pets. I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I think eventually the scars will fade and hopefully not bother you.
