Do you acknowledge people on the go and say hello
to them? Have you had this preconceive thoughts that
they might hurt you somehow? Are we just reticent or
reluctant to talk to them? I personally would observe
strangers gestures first before beginning to connect.
Somehow they might be family we are about to meet.

I'm a lil bit reserved - but for the most part, I say hi to most people that I pass by in the neighborhood , on my runs.walks whatever. However, I don't start random conversations with people if I'm at a grocery or whatever. I would say hi if they acknowledge me though.
My bf on the other hand - loves to talk to people!! That guy knows everything and everyone! It's ridiculous. And yes, we're just opposites, i'm a introvert - he's an extrovert.

Thanks for your comment, interesting. I think, the more you talk to strangers earn you lots of advantages. People who are welcoming to strangers are smart people and are confident. It takes a skill to be an extrovert.

I talk to strangers sometimes when I see them as decent like a woman or children, an older man or woman who need to ask for a direction. I entertain them, usually in a crowded places or with the public. But, If I am alone in a new place. I never talk to strangers if I my friends or relatives never know her or him directly. My reasons is to protect my privacy and to get away from bad elements.

i often talk to strangers because of the nature of my job. i don't mind connecting with them since i feel that it's a need to acquaint some stuffs from all walks of life.as long as i see that i don't get harm from them then i won't worry from talking to them. i just talk casual and don't share important info about myself. it's also nice hearing opinions from people we seldom see and meet.

i easily respond to greetings from security guards or the employees of the mall. my sibling once commented that i do not have to greet them back but personally i feel bad when i do not respond to them. i always put myself in their shoes. and i think it makes them feel good when people respond to their greetings. besides there is nothing wrong with that..
