At the first time jeans is made for mine workers who all men. But for reasons practical and comfortable women wear jeans now. At anytime and any moment even when working at office. We can accept it. But why we can not accept men who wear skirt even for the same reason ? we call him abnormal. It is unfair right ?

Times change, society changes its ideas about styles of clothing, and these ideas also change from culture to culture. Jeans were invented by Levi Strauss for miners, but trousers go back much further and when they were first seen, they were considered odd by men who all wore long flowing robes, or men who wore togas. Currently, in Western society, men don't wear skirts and one big reason is that men don't want to wear skirts.
Men are much more afraid of exhibiting behavior that others might think of as feminine than women are of exhibiting behavior that others might consider masculine. Heterosexual males do not usually feel comfortable in any situation where they might display any behavior they consider to be unmanly. In western society (aside from Celts and Scots where kilts have a cultural tradition) skirts are considered to be feminine.
If you really want men to be able to wear skirts, you've got to convince the men that they want to wear them first. Good luck with that.
But as I said society's norms change over time. They say fashion itself is a form of ugliness so terrible that it must be replaced every 6 months. When men decide that skirts are comfortable and desirable attire and stop worrying that people will think they are too feminine, that's when they will wear them.
The truth is that skirts aren't more practical or comfortable, they require that the wearer use a great amount of practice in sitting and moving skillfully enough to avoid exposure of things under the skirt and they rule out slouchy sitting and sitting cross-legged. Women wear them to show their legs to an advantage. If women were attracted to men by the exposure of their hairy calves, then men might be convinced to wear skirts.
Clothing only has as much importance as people give it. Men don't attach much importance to the right to wear a skirt.

Jeans can be worn by both sexes, but I think skirts are essentially feminine, and most men would not wear them, except as fancy dress. I don't really fancy seeing hairy legs beneath a skirt, and I suppose most women would find it a complete turn off, so there's the aesthetic aspect as well. And just think of the view you'd get if the man did a Marilyn Monroe and stood over a vent for the wind to blow his skirt up!

In fact people play different roles in the society such as man and woman, and moreover with the development of world this trend is changing. In today man wearing skirts may be regarded as an abnormal one, however in many years it may be accepted by public, and even they wear stockings or pantyhoses.

Well, they make jeans for women.
Find me a skirt, other than a kilt, made for a man.
I don't think a skirt would flatter the male figure much!

wow,men wear skirt on some occasion is accept, such as on the stage, however, as you know, skirt isn't very convenience for walking or run. most of woman don't like to wear skirt at all,man always walking quickly than woman,if they wear tight skirt, how to walking? so in my opinion, skirt to be wear by men isn't accept in the world, only uncomfortable and unconvenience for men.so they are refuse to do so.good luck!

Wow...Good question. But i have to say, in some place, man wear skirt is acceptable.
In my opinions, i think because man meaning powerful, backstone of the family, and most of the kings are men. And the soldiers in the battles are men too. If the soldiers wear skirt, then it won't be easy for them to run, to fight, right? I think that might be the reason why.

so weird to think it over and look them wearing skirt.
So awkward for them to wear it.

I don't know why, but it is not correct!
Women always want the rights' equality and then happen this kind of things...
I think that I would wear skirt, expecially during summer...when I arrive in office I really hate to wear always trousers and I would love to wear a skirt and feel my legs free!!!

actually it depends on the state and human practices, when i was in Middle East, I see normal for men who wear long skirt, some wear it inside their main dress, when they go to offices, hospitals, or as uniforms in the campus and colleges, universities, residents of Middle East and their guests are normally wearing this long skirt both young boy and oldies.
at first i found them funny but later it was became normal for me to see those men in long skirt!

No, not right! What's wrong with you. Now, who cares what you do in the privacy of your own home, but I don't want to see men wearing mini skirts around my office. There's such a thing called politically correct. Women wearing jeans are covering up more than they would be showing. There's nothing wrong with that. Grown men wearing skits would show hairy legs and God knows what else, ewww. Please people, use your common sense.

I think it would be rather odd if we see men walking about in skirts and the reason for that is I have seen very few places where the skirt is worn by men. As it is, shirt and pants have become somewhat of a global dress for both men and women, leaving aside the many diverse traditional dresses. Skirts worn by men are a part of traditional attire of some places…so in cultural festivals such attire is OK in dances and programmes, so we are kind on not used to seeing it daily or regularly.

If we are to look at the origin of skirts and pants, pants were used by knights as the ruling class. Other than pants, they also wore skimpy mini skirts to hide their masculine body. Thus, in 19th century, wearing pants denoted power whereas skirts denoted non-fighting gender. Now, there are some fashion designers like the ones in Paris who try to bring back the wearing of skirts by men; unfortunately, all were unsuccessful. Who knows, oneday, men can also wear skirts. Blessings!^^

I have seen men wearing skirts - remember the bagpipers!!! Jeans were meant for men because they are more like pants which are tailored for men's need. But there are women who find it comfortable too.
But i don't understand why a man would love to wear skirt when women themselves feel it off fashion! I feel i actually does no suit the male body structure and biological needs.
I think if men shave/wax thier legs then they can probably think about wearing skirts!! - LOL :)

quite odd right? men wearing skirt? but the scottish? i think or the irish? men where it all along? mean, there are some cultures that accept men wearing skirt as part of their fashion and or clothes. generally you see men wearing skirt especially mini skirts hahaha a little bit awkward on your part.. even men generally except for those who dare will wear casually skirts everyday. men are athletic by nature, moves a lot and not every male can glide that can enhance the sexiness of a skirt. so, it is not really about skirt but is it okay to look at when you wear it? as for pants or jeans well, they look very good on women as well, right? we can't say the same as to men wearing skirts.
