There are so many of them, the stray dogs roaming freely on the road, I feel for them, they deserve some pity. I find many people giving them some chapati or something to eat! Its mercy and animal love! Would you take any street dog for a pet and keep at home for personal pet and care?

Our little dog was a foundling. A truck driver found him wandering around a truck stop in Texas. He was the best companion our oldest could ever have had, and had it not been for cancer I am sure there would have been more then the 9 happy years we had had with him. Alas I would not take just any dog or cat as a stray. Too many are feral or are runaways from being mistreated. These animals do not make good pets, so I think it would come down to the animal it's self.

I love animals as well as dogs. I might also consider a stray dog to be my pet if its cute and homeless. They also have feelings like us, they need love and care though they can't think as rational like humans do.

One of my dogs...I have four...was a stray. My best friend found her when she was still a puppy, on the side of the road with some other dogs. She had no identification and you could tell that she hadn't eaten in awhile because she was practically skin and bones. My friend brought her by because she knew that I'd been thinking of getting a companion for my oldest dog. It took me about 2 minutes to decide I would keep her.

I wouldn't think twice about the matter. Dogs, cats, birds, horses etc. All are welcome and I'll find a place that suits each and every one.

I have adopted several cats that were strays, but have called animal control for dogs as I have 4 already. I feel bad knowing that they had owners, that probably couldn't or wouldn't care for them anymore and let them roam. The outcome of course for most who are not adopted, will be euthanasia, that is the sad thing. If they can't care for them, they should not get them!

i think yes...i did it in the past in reality!!In fact there was a big dog begging normally near to my home and so have not a good appearence and have always angry so i will take him and give him some food and care to my home..but after some weeks i knew that this is a dog that had a master in reality but seeing that he came under a car he lose their memory and so he could not turn back home..and in fact he have in the neck a card with his name so i guess he would have a master..at the end he will turn back with his master..so i think i will take a dog or cat if they are begging in the street and so need a house..:)
