I am finding so many people online that have been laid of recently. With me it happened 3 years ago which is around the time that the economy began its downslide. I went from a job that paid me $18.75 and hour to nothing. I had a home that had to be sold. I had enough money for my kids and they got what they needed. Since losing my job we have struggled so bad. I tried a sales job and made no money at all and then finally turned to the web. Here I have found some money and am not going to give up. There are many places to earn and I am tapping as many of them as I can. How about you, have you lost your job recently and if so how has that affected you.

Yes I am in the same boat as you. I lost my job in July of 2007. I was making $48,000 a year. It was very hard to recover from that. I had to downsize and rent a cheaper place, my new vehicle got repo'd and there were times when I thought that we might all be homeless. After losing my transportation I could not get a job out in the real world and I started looking online for income. I found a few places and started working but most of the time you have to have 2 to 3 jobs just to barely squeek by on the net. I am glad to have found MYLot to help out though. A person just has to keep trying is all that they can do.

I am so sorry about your car, I know how you feel. I had a beautiful Volvo which was my dream car, and how I loved it. Took care of it and always got the maintenance, until I coulf no longer affrod the $515.00 payment and they took it away. I think that hurt me more than selling my house. It was a dream I had fullfiled that got taken away. Sob Sob Sob :O(

I just lost my job in April of this year. It has been terrible for our family. I am grateful that my husband still has his job, but my job was needed to also pay the bills. I was making close to $20.00 a hour and now without my salary we are very close to losing our house as well. Bills are getting further and further behind. But I still haven't given up hope and I truly hope I get a job soon. In the meantime, I work online and chat here on MyLot to keep myself busy during the day.

I feel for you and know how you feel. You are lucky in the respect that you have your husbad and he is still working. These are such scary times, especially when you have kids. Bills are gonna keep coming so al you can do it the best you can. And in the end what is important is that you have your family and that you are all okay. I have been trough some really scary years recently and I have learned to appreciate even the tiniest little thing. I'm sure you will do well online. You have the want and you have the need. And need is a big motivator, let me tell you.

Thanks for your kind words. I have worked out a budget that we can survive on if the hubby and kids would stick to it. The kids think we are made of money and I think my hubby thinks I have a Swiss bank account or something. He always thinks I have money stashed away somewhere. I keep trying to tell all of them we are on a budget but I don't think it has sunken in yet.

Hi, I've never experienced being laid off, however I'm so happy to see your courage. You must be really strong to face such a situation with children. Bitterness to sell your house. The trouble you got to go through to get new job! Wish you make lots of money online and make you family happy!

oh ... what a gorgeous picture!!! Thank you so much for your encouraging words and wishes. and no I am not bitter, I cant be. As things were stripped from me one by one I was taught a lesson each time. I think now I am a better person, poorer but better. And one day me and my girls will be okay, they are teenagers right now and I tell them this will not last forever. Thats why we all must work hard, so we can make it better. thanks again and I wish you the same!

I'm unemployed for the past six months and counting. It really gets me so frustrated as I would like to share some to my family but I couldn't just do it because there are really no good opportunities coming to me. I had a good job two years ago but I resigned from that company because I thought that i'll be getting a new and more high paying job. But unfortunately not, so I tried to work on a graveyard shift as well and my bf and I have just completely arguing about it. So I became jobless since April 2009 but i'm still seeking right now, I really hope that I can really get a good one because I am having low self-esteem and I pity myself for not getting a good job.

Its really hard out there right now and you can not take it personally. So many people are fighting for the same job, it's not you its the economy. Just keep looking and at some point something will surely come up. Dont give up and persevere! Good luck!

But like you I'm starting to do very well on the internet! I kinda like it and see alot of cash in the future! tdemex

Yes if they ONLY DID know what they were missing. Unfortunately that is the world, they forget the value that someone who is older can bring to the table. The experience and knowledge. The responsibility. So we will find out own way right? We can do it and WE WILL! And how exciting that we get to venture out and do something new, and I know if we work hard enough and smart enough we will do well. I wish you tons of luck and know that you will be okay. :O) Happy Lotting my friend!!

So sorry about your bad experience. I think my current employment sector - banking in Malaysia is still safe, not worse until will be getting fired. But with limited salary, it's hard to get a comfortable life. I'll try many ways to get a comfortable life, do pm me if you found such a way. Good luck to you.

I am so sorry to know that you are being laid how. Thanks God to say that I am still with my job now. As I am working in banking sector, I think it should be ok, but nobody will know what happens tomorrow, we must always be ready for the worse. That's why I am also looking around for some ways to earn extra money just as a backup. If I really got laid off my my employer, at least I still have second source of income.

I have lost job for months. It is not because I can't find a job, but becuase I don't like to work in a company getting only a little salary. And I wanted to erect a small company. However, it is so hard for me to run the company now. But I have to insist on. I think I won't be defeated, I will success.

Howdy! Luckily in my industry I don't think I'll be losing my job. However, I know I shouldn't be saying that because anything and everything is possible. I've been saving like crazy (and that really can help if something happens). I really love online money making activities. Secret shopping is nice to do, too. The downside I've seen to online activities (that do pay) you have to wait at least a month to receive payment. Sometimes it can be 6--8 weeks! I have quit jobs before and then had little income. This website is very nice to chat. Thanks for the topic. Pablo

These are really scary times. I left a very good job to move to a new company doing the same type of work. Supposedly it was to be a better opportunity. I was shocked to find myself laid off after only 45 days. I've been working for 20 years straight, this was the first time I was ever laid off, let go or any of the above. It was a shock and very scary. I'm staying at home now raising my two kids, 4 and 3 months. But it frightens me to think that if I needed to go to work right away that I wouldn't be able to find a job.

Well for me,it is that possible to lose a job but if your dedicated to your job doing the right thins to do and you believe that your giving good impressions to your boss I think it is not that impossible to lose the job you loved.
