It just can't be! He was only 50 years old! He was taken to
the hospital a few hours ago! He went into cardiac arrest
and couldn't be revived! He went into a coma and was pronouced
dead! Not Michael Jackson! Oh God! I can't believe it! The
music world has lost an icon who can never be replaced. I am
in shock as everyone who is first hearing this story! Please
tell me some of your wonderful memories you have of Michael
so we can remember him properly! And, no I didn't forget that
we lost an "Angel" today too! Rest In Peace Farah, you
were just as loved....

I am shocked and sad. I grew up listening to his songs when he was so famous with "Beat it"... I always remember the movie, "Ben" and oh, there were so many... Condolences to his family, friends and fans out there. May his soul rest in peace and same goes to Farah Fawcett...

Hey Opal, This is a real shocker to me also. I am 51 years old, and I feel as though he and I grew up together. I used to watch him on TV, the Flip Wilson show I think it was. I'm still hoping that it's a rumor, but I will stay tuned to the radio to see how and why. We just never know when it's our time, do we? With Farrah we knew it was possible that she might pass, but with Michael it's so sudden.

Well, I will put my 2 cents in to. It was such a shock to hear about Michaels passing. I loved his early music but I didn't like his new stuff in the 2000's. I knew that someday something would happen to him just by the way he took all those medications. And from what his father did to him to. I was more upset by Farrahs passing. She was in so much pain, and she never complained once. All she had was hope the whole time. I don't know if I would ever be that strong. And poor Ryan O'neal. He has loved her for over 30 years. I pray for their son Redmond, that he will straighten out and not lose his father to. But you never know if Ryan's lukemia will come back. I pray not. I grew up with Farrah, watching her in Charlie's Angels, and all her movies. She was such a wonderful actress and caring person. Now she is with the real angels out of pain, and with her beautiful hair. I have a confession. I had a Farrah due to back then!!

Hi lagirl, I was a big fan of Farrah's too. She was a beautiful
and strong woman all the way until the end. She never lost
her beauty or her grace! I know that Ryan O'Neal is extremely
upset about his loss and I do hope that he will be able to
handle it for their son's sake. And I wished I had the hair
to have had the "Farrah do", but I have dark curly hair and
was so jealous of those could!

Hi Opal,
Yes, Farrah was so beautiful and stong until the very end. I pray for Ryan and their son. I didn't have blond hair back then, I have always been a brunette. But I did have the farrah style! All feathered out and big! I think mine was bigger than hers cause my hair is so thick! I always wanted to be a blond, but my hair was always to dark to go that way.

Hi Opal!
It sounds really unbelievable that the great singer is no more and he left the music world at the age of 50. He was great performer and star. We are also feeling sad on his passing away. I was also a fan of Michael Jackson and I loved to listen to his songs in the yesteryears. I liked all his songs and it is difficult to single out a song. He was a magician and wonderful singer with so much variation in his voice. Once he came to India on a tour and his concerts were huge hits with Indians.

He will be long remembered for his unique innovation and making the music 'visual' with his extra-ordinary techniques like moon walking.

my son was watching his videos on all the music stations all day. he was trying to catch his favorite which was the one with Eddie murphy in it dressed like a pharoa. called "Do you remember the time" my personal favorite was "the man in the mirror" which was about how we should help and care for others all around the world. both micheal and farrah were very caring people. more than many thought.

I remember when I was really young I watched his concert in Bucharest, during the dangerous tour. I watched it on t.v., never saw him live. But I always loved it. I actually recently bought it on dvd, so I could watch it whenever I want. He was an amazing singer, dancer, and all around artist. He will be greatly missed.

Hi bishoujovamp! Welcome to mylot! I never saw that concert!
You are lucky to have it on DVD! Now you can't find any of
his CD's or DVD's anywhere in any store! Everything has sold
out! I ordered 2 of his CD's today and they are backordered!
I can't wait to get the because they are some of this older
music that I have on vinyl records!

Im 64 and I have seen people come and go, but no one is never prepare or ready for this kind of things it shocks us into reality [ for a while] at least. It just make me think that don't matter what, money or not we are all going the same way.
Michael was a great dancer and I have dance to his songs a lot of times.
I send a prayer for Farah, and Michael may both Rest In Peace, they will for ever be in our lounge room, partys, and video nights.

Hi alottodo~ I am 56 and I grew up with Michael. I watched
him grow up while I was growing up and I loved him from the
first time I saw him perform with his brothers and as others
I knew there was something so special about that little boy!
And as wonderful as he was as a performer throughout the years
and as much as he gave to everyone he suffered so much. He will
live on through his music and dance and we will make sure that
his life will always be celebrated, but now his at peace!

It is really disturbing to hear that Micheal Jackson is no more.......I just switched on the NEWS this afternoon to see this news flashing.....i was not able to believe it for a second, but then he was gone......he was truly a legend.....who gave us amazing hits like blood on the dance floor, and my all time favorite "Heal the world" it has so much of meaning in it and i still love to listen to that song....but destiny can take a person anywhere.....I have been listening to his songs right from when i was small......and his dance moves cannot be forgotten, the grace with which he danced was simply amazing.......i don't think anyone can match to his standards.........
Well, may his soul rest in peace !!!!

I remember listening to Micheal Jackson throughout my life, regardless of what the media would say about him.. He was a great artist, like they said the The King of Pop.. Micheal had a style all of his own, I will still listen to his music.. It reminds me of some good times.. And there is a lot of his music I can relate too.. I will miss him.. Micheal Rest in Peace

I feel the same way that you do sjvenden! No matter what the
media said about him they couldn't take away the fact that he
was a genius in his own rite and he will live on forever in
the hearts of those that loved him! His music will live on
forever for generations to come and now hopefully he is resting
in peace, and no longer in pain~

It's really sad.. He really do a lot of wonderful things in the music industry and every people love him. But there's a fact that all of us will come to an end. Maybe his mission is already done, now he is with the Father. Goodbye Mj.

Hi im new to mylot this is my first post. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and dancing to it in front of the TV. He is a very under estimated artist just view the lyrics of "they dont really care about us." His music will live forever in the hearts of the young and old alike. He was more than a man he was a legend.

Hi magik! Welcome to mylot! I am honored that your first
response is to my discussion, thank you! And you gave a
beautiful response. I am guessing that your parents were
Michael Jackson fans? I sent you a friend's request so I
can hopefully be your first friend here too. If you have any
questions please feel free to ask!

Very sad indeed the world lost two of the most popular public figures that has rocked the entertaining world within hours. Though MJ had many controversial issues behind his popularity, his passing is a great lost to the millions of his fans. At 50, it is too young for him to die. The world mourn the loss of these wonderful entertainers.

I saw Michael Jackson perform in Wembley Stadium in London many years ago and what a performer! He was absolutely brilliant. There were people there from small children to grandparents and he stunned everyone with his brilliant performance. He was due to do another tour soon and he will be sadly missed. - Derek

Wow! You are so fortunate to have had the chance to see him
perform live! I never got to see him live! Here in the US
it was almost impossible to get tickets to one of his concerts!
They sold out so fast and I was kind of young way back then
so I wasn't able to go on my own! How lucky you are to have
that memory!

The news was devastating to millions who loved Michael Jackson and followed his career, Opal. My first reaction to the news was disbelief, followed by a deep grief for his children, his family, and all of us who loved him. Farrah will also be terribly missed by her loyal fans and loved ones. Two bright stars have gone out.

Hello Opal,
This is such sad news . We lost the king of pop who was oh so very gifted in many ways. There will never be another him , and he also had a big heart , and helped heal the world . I wish people would let him rest in peace and remember the good , and not what he was accused of. He was a father, a son, a bother, and an icon. He will be missed! but his music will live on!
I grew up with him myslef and had a poster, music, and even wrote a fan letter to him . when i heard of his passing a flood came rushing back of the carefree Mj days of me and my bro singing and dancing.

Hi metschic~So many memories came back to me too! So many
songs, so many memories of dancing around my house like a
crazy person! I am still so upset! I was such a big fan and
I never lost faith in him no matter what anyone said! He
was a tortured soul and now he's free~
