I notice that there are "+""-" besides every respond.no matter the discussion is i started or others started.is it a rule to use"+","-" to every respond?
When i read the discussions others started,i notice their responders'"+","-".amd surprisely I can dot them!
then i confused.
1.should i use "+""-"to every responder who participate the discussions i have started?
2.should i use "+""-"to every responder who participate the discussions others have strated?
if we do,what is the effect?if we not do,what is the effect?

I only give + marks. I think I gave 1 - mark one time when the person was saying something that was extremely offensive or something to that effect. Let me just say it definitely warranted it.
Otherwise I never give - marks. On all of my discussions that I start I always respond to the comments left and I always give + marks to my respondants.
I also give + marks on other discussions I read when I find the comments are helpful. Lastly, I give + marks on my friends' discussions too.
I believe that it somehow affects others earnings if they get more + marks. I don't think that - marks help people's earnings. I could be wrong but that is how I understand the system.
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

Hi friend,
I think you should rate every discussions with + or -. Well you don't get paid for this but this is the main factor that decide the reputation of other mylot users. As earlier post said it is being misused some are just pressing the - sign if someone contradicts their statement which is not the case you have given this facility to rate all he nice responses and not when someone disagrees.
For me i must have rarely used -. I do rate + to each and every discussion i respond and the responses i get.
Happy Mylotting.

hi suj, yeah I usually did it to the people who respond to my post. I use it to show that I appreciate their time to read and add comments to my post. Its a way for me to give thanks. Its nice to give it to people who gave their time to gave you the best response they can have. Its so nice to read reply to other people thats why I usually rate them with + =)

I've given you a +, because I believe your discussion is useful for new members coming across this discussion and wanting to know what are the uses of + and -.
If a discussion is something that I find useful and especially interesting, I will not hesitate to rate positive. But for the negative button, I will hold out until the very last minute. It is a button which I treated like an emergency one and I don't tend to use it every now and then except in emergency cases, LOL.
I can't really tell what and how but for instance if you see something like a total vulgarity and an abusive of words hurled or total spam, then it's best to rate negative. Something like that. However, friends in mylot are all generally nice and it's quite hard to rate negative. Which is good, in my point of view. Hope this helps.

I do rate the discussions from time to time. It depends on how useful the discussion is and how it creates and impact on me as well as others. From what I understand, giving a plus rating will increase the reputation of the one who posted the discussion. I do not know however if such will increase the earnings of such member. Well, your discussion surely deserves one..

I don't use this every discussion that I commented. It is useless to say that rating is not helpful to give us more earnings here. What important thing to me is to reply for discussions that i feel I am aware about...It's up to you want to rate some of the discussion that you like most.

You can rank β+ββ-βto every response. no matter the discussion is whether started by you.
as for the effect, I don't know it exactly. But I think we should give a positive rank to those useful responses.
