I was the loser in my class, the one who will be called to join in a game only when they couldn't make up the numbers.
That's how I learn to be on the defensive when I grew up. I am cynical about being offered opportunities readily so I bulldoze people in my path before they even say yes or no to me. I taught myself never to believe that I am inferior to the next person. And so it has become difficult for me to admit that I am a loser now.
But after working in this office for near 2 years, I finally found myself admitting that I am a true blue loser. No one here even bother to hide the fact that they think I am hideous and do not deserves a chance, any chance. I would be running shows all by my lonesome and when it is time to make up a list of people to thank, my name will not even be mentioned even though I am sitting before them. I may concede that I am not worthy of the Best Employee of the Year award but seeing people who boot-licked and looked good their way to special bonuses just rips my ego to shreds.

I have experienced enough of these things and trust me, its not only the so called ugly people who are ignored. It will depend on a lot of other things. And nobody has the right to call anybody as "ugly". We all have good and bad qualities.
You should be stronger and fight out of your situation. You should do well in the area of your strength and then show it to the world how good you are. And once you do that, they'll all come running after you
