I've been playing the COD4 online multiplayer a lot for the last 3 months. There's no particular favorite server. I usually choose hardcore and if possible team death match. Can't say i'm really good. My average kill on assault and smgs usually over 40 kills and about 20 deaths. I've got most of the golden weapons except smg (small machine gun) and lmg (light machine gun). My main problem is the lag. I'm in asia so if possible i'll choose australian server because my ping on that server is better. The lower your ping the better it is. Of course, it's better is everyone has the same ping rate as you. Sometimes you might notice that you've emptied a whole clip at the enemy point blank and he still walks away. That happens because he is 'laggy'. the person you think you're shooting is actually in a different position because the information from his computer sent to the server is slow. The trick is to lead your shots. That means you have to guess where he should be or where he will be. Knowing the map is really important. You must know where is the best sniping area and ambush area. There are also glitches within the maps. Check out you tube for these areas i mentioned. When you know the map well enough, you'll find where most people will go and hide or rush from. Just shoot randomly at those area and you'll rake in some kills. If you set up your weapon to be able to shoot through walls is even better. Use the radar to find out where the enemy is, not just the visuals. Below are what most people dont like 1. they don't like people using silencer 2. they don't like people using rocket launcher on people, use em on heli only 3. they don't like people using grenade launchers (well, i don't mind it much but it's a sissy way to fight) 4. they really don't last martyrs. damn annoying a-holes. remember if you're playing extreme hardcore, you can actually hurt your team mates by anything you do (if it hits them), and that'll really piss em off. 5. and for god's sake don't use last stand, if you're hit then stay dead, take it like a man... or woman. There's a lot more but I just wanted to start this thread see if there's any hardcore player in here and discuss about strategies.
