Once in a party during winter season..i remember my lady friend..wearing very thin clothes, while i had t-shirt sweater and a thick jacket... i asked her if she was feeling cold?? but to my surprise she said - girls don't feel cold like you guys do...
and i was like huh!
so is there any truth or any explanation..??

yes we do tend to feel less cold when i was living in england in the height of summer i could go out in just a t-shirt and jeans and maybe a hat and gloves and i would break into a sweat when moving around. i think that the reason we are like that is purely genetic. women are build with an extra insulation layer something to do with having to birth and nurse children, and the body needing extra fat reserves. i guess it goes back to when we crawled out of the primoridial goop.

well yeah back in the day, i mean cavemen times we had to be able to carry a baby and survive on our fat reserves even when there was not food and when it was cold too. that is why we only get fatter over time and when we are pregnant, it gets harder to budge the fat as we get older and become less active.

I am a girl and I am cold more than most people I know... I have had this conversation with boys and girls at my university and we came to the conclusion that boys are less sensitive to temperature than girls... a girl that wears next to nothing in winter is cold, but her need to be attractive overrides self preservation (in my opinion).

Hello Acis!!!
Hmm...Some times that is the real topic to wonder. We can see these things on party a lot. The gents would be wearing suits and the girls with mostly open dresses.
I think the girls care more about looking glamorous than about the coldness haha...May be this is the one of the reason. Because of this interest may be the even the feeling of coldness is dominated. You know there is the popular saying, "Where there is a will there is a way." And with this feeling, I hope they are totally used to with this thing...
Let's see what the girls or women say in this matter. I am checking this out...
Interesting discussion ....Keep posting...Happy mylotting...

Yeah.. maybe girls care more about getting to look gorgeous that the feeling itself of cold disappears. or maybe they have something we don't...

I've only experienced it the other way around. I mean there's always going to be the girls who wear next to nothing when they are cold just because they want to. So I recon they will just say they are hot even if they aren't. But in the winter I wear so many layers of everything. I don't do well in the cold. When it was snowing my boyfriend was just wearing a tshirt and hockey jersey and I was wearing at least 4 tops, a jumper and a coat and hat and scarf! My sister and her boyfriend are the same too. In september we say it's cold and our boyfriends are just wearing tshirts.

actually, girls feel less cold or less hot than men. we can bare the weather conditions much more than guys. But in today's world I think, this should be opposite because we girls now- a -days wax or remove our hair on the skins which actually is meant for controlling the temperature of our body. So, according to that girls should feel colder than men.

hey there!
well the matter has been a core topic of discussion at many forums:)
infact as said above girls have a genetics build that helps them bear more cold.
beside
there is no doubt they just do it to show their dressing and appear gorgeous:)!

Well, we Northern Europeans feel cold less than some others but from my experience here, men feel cold less than women.
all the best urban

The exception to this seems to be where girls want to wear fashionable revealing clothes but that is to do with ego, not temperature

no its the opposite, guys can go around wearing next to nothing and still be warm like my brother who wears jeans and no shirt around the house in winter whereas my mum and i are layered with clothes and slippers. I think she prob said that so she didnt look stupid for wearing hardly anything in the cold

hm..i see then its same for both.
So maybe it depends on people and not gender.
some people tend to feel less cold then other.
and person who wants to look gorgeous tend to forget how cold the weather is.
anyway thanxs for respons
