The twitter population is growing slowly and steadily by day and it has been in the news recently due to the political situation in Iran. But, I logged in into Twitter today and just searched the name of a local movie actor after having read it in newspaper.
But, I was shocked to see that there were three accounts under the same name with small changes like an underscore and hyphen. Now, how do I know that which is the original person and which two others are fake? Any suggestions as I was completely puzzled by that.

I think there's no way to know it right now. The only way is wait and see. When the fake person posted something wrong, the real person usually will react. It's kind of besmirching. So far i haven't heard any bad news about it from twitter yet but i hope it won't be happened to anyone no matter a popular person or just a common person. Besmirching is a serious crime. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

There's really no way to know right now, other than watching the accounts and seeing if you can figure it out over time. Also sometimes a celeb will say their twitter handle on tv, so then you know for sure. I think twitter has just released a feature called something like "verified accounts", which means the people at twitter have talked to the celeb personally and know for sure whether an account is theirs or not. I don't know if this feature has been fully implemented yet.

yuo can find that the account you followed is real or not by seeing the verified sign. if the account of the artist you want to follow has a verified sign then it is real. try to open it to find out.
