Modeling Agency Scams

We were approached to have my daughter meet with a Talent/Modeling Agency. We were told that there was no money required so we decided to look into it since she would love to be the next iCarly. Upon arrival at the interview we were told of other "nominal" expenses ie, photo shoots and casting cards. The minimum cost involved would be around $700. Now how did "no money required" turn into $700+? Not to mention that if we decided to book the photo shoot they wanted a deposit of $175. Doing further research we learned that there are other agencies in our area that are being prosecuted because of fraud. I think its very sad that in this day and age we have to be skeptical of everything. We have to approach every opportunity with kit gloves and be leary of everything and everyone. Where has this world come to?

I think we should understand that there's no free lunch. We shouldn't believe any good opportunity which said is free or something similar like that. It's impossible to someone for giving such free offers with sincerity. Especially on this recession. I see many kind of scams out there. Next time you'd better be smarter. Crosschecking first before make any decission. Good luck and happy mylotting.

I would totally put down the money if I felt it was legitimate. But in my research I found many reasons to be hesitant. I won't sign on the line until I know that its money well invested. That goes for any endeavor.
