A woman having more than one husband is called polyandry. It is not nearly as common as polygyny, but it does occur in a few cultures in Africa, Asia, and the Canadian Arctic. The most common type of polyandry is fraternal polyandry, which is when a woman marries two or more men who are brothers.

That's interesting to know. With that being said I can't imagine being married to my brother-in-law too. He and my husband are too different to tolerate. Family get togethers are difficult enough. I can't imagine having them both on a day to day basis!

In cultures where polygyny and polyandry are practiced, marriages aren't as personal or emotional as they are in most Western cultures. Marriage is usually an economic arrangement rather than romantic, so they don't feel the same way about "sharing" a spouse as we might.

I live in houston now but i lived in utah for 5 years. Pologimist are different , you mosty see them in walmart , one men with with 3-7 women following him around with kids of couse . The women where long dresses which cover them from neck to toe and they usually look down. The women wera there hair in long long braid down there bvack . The man just looks like a coyboy from one of those old western movies.. they never bother anyone and they dont go door to door like the mormons or johivah witnesss, they just keep to themselves. Iwould never want more the one husband or wife , one will be perfect for me

I've never heard of a woman having more than one husband. First I don't think any man would tolerate living second to another man in a house and what woman would want more than one husband. I have one and thats quite enough for me!!
