Each place has a distinct attractions to offer to visitors or tourists. The attraction may be their natural or man-made sites, the unique culture , people's hospitality, or maybe even their signature dishes. For well-traveled people, which place have you been to and what do remember them by? what do you say is that destination's most prized attraction? Here's a few: 1.If you're going to the Province of Quezon, the pancit chami is a must-try. If you're in Lucban, you must try the pancit hab-hab and bring some Lucban longganisa to take home to you family. 2. In Iloilo City, La Paz batchoy is the culinary must- try. Bring home the biscocho to friends and family. Visit the well-preserved churches in Jaro, Miag-ao (UNESCO world heritage site), and other towns in the Province. The Dinagyang Festival is nice to watch too. 3. In Bacolod, watching the Masskara Festival is a travel must. My sister comes here a lot and i look forward to the food she brings home. Cheese tarts, ube piyaya and buttescotch are my fave!

I remember the names of the cities that I have been to and the main attractions there. Like I think of Paris and the Eiffel Tower and San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge. I remember what I saw in the countryside and the beaches but have forgotten many of the names of those. Thanks for the lovely suggestions of sights that might be enjoyable to see in the Philippines. Happy traveling.

you're right most Americans are friendly and hospitable that way. it's amazing what a simple "how'r ya doing?" can do. it's funny because on my first week in the US, I didn't know how to reply (when a stranger greets me like that) because it always comes as a surprise when they said that to you. And eventually i learn to adapt to it and enjoy that simple courteous chat with them.
