My daughter was attacked at the skate park friday night. It took the police 3 hours to respond, by then the attacker was gone. The police took pictures of my daughters wounds and the damage done to my vehicle. Saturday my daughter and I went to the skate park to see if the attacker was still hanging around. Sure enough, there she was. I call 911 and told them the police needed to respond to the skate park immediatly. I was told I'd recieve a call back when they had checked the area. I never got a call and its now sunday night. I was thinking about driving by the park again, just to see if the girl is still hanging out. I also have researched and found out the girls name. I want to call the police, but I am not sure the best way to go about it. Whether I should drive to the park and then call or just call from home. Either way, I have over a $1000 worth of damage to my vehicle, not to mention my daughters lucky to be alive and has staples in her head, where the girl hit her with a skateboard. The police need to do something. There are 2 felonys involed here.

Call from your home, give them all the information you have received. You didn't state what size town/city you live in, but in many cities, towns across the USA the police forces are very short on manpower and they have to respond to many calls, if they have a large area to cover, it may take them awhile to respond to a particular call/complaint, they are not just sitting at the next corner. Also let them know that you will press charges against this girl, the reason I say this is that so many people have the police respond to a complaint and then they never come forward and press charges against the person. Good luck, oh and all of this comes from the experience of living with a law enforcement officer.

I am so sorry this happened to your daughter and I am glad that she is ok. I wouldn't go back to the skate park, you don't want this girl to turn around and tell the police you are stalking her. I would be calling the police several times a day until they do something about this girl. And yes, definately give the police her name. Keep me updated on your progress please.

I am extremely sorry to hear from you as to what happened to your daughter.
1. First thing you have to do is to identify the culprit
2. Written complaint to police station giving the details of the incident and obtain the acknowledgement.
3. What ever is the wound, take her to hospital/clinic and get the certificate for having treated her.
4. The copy of the medical report (however small the wound is) should be submitted to police station.
5. Alert local newspaper men about the incident.
Once people come to know that you will do anything to catch the culprit or atleast you will fight against such barbaric treatment, culprits will not come near you or your daughter.

Well if that were my daughter i would hound the police i would go to the girls parents and i would get a lawyer, i would charge the girl with asult and vandolism and then the police have todo something and you may have to go to the police station to file the charges but then they don't have a choice but to help you i would also be keeping a diary of everything that has happened the times dates place and incident and i would also take pictures of the injuries and damages and get a report from the dr that handled your daughter. i wish you the best of luck with this and i hope your daughter recovers and justice is served. take care!
