I have read 'Pride and Prejudice' several times, ans seen the film and the Andrew Davies TV adaptation. It's my favourite Jane Austen book, although I like all of them. My reading tastes are quite eclectic, so I don't really have a favourite book or a favourite author. If a story hooks me into the heart of it within the first few pages, it's my favourite book at that moment.

Hello Thea - how's my favourite stalker? Yes, I saw the Olivier film, which was wonderful, and the one with Keira Knightley, which was average. I still like to watch the TV adaptation, as I love seeing Colin Firth come out of the lake with his clothes sticking to him - even though that bit wasn't in the book. Excuse me - I need to go for a cold shower now to calm down!

I read and loved this book, I was lucky enough to have an old copy of the book passed down to me which tied in with the original film with Lawrence Olivier. There were black and white photographs throughout the book taken from the film and I still remember well the original film version of the book which was much better in my view than later adaptations.
My all time favourite book is 'Eleni' by Nicholas Gage.

Eleni is the most wonderful book but depends if you like really heavy going books, it is about a grown man's quest to find those responsile for the murder of his mother during the Greek civil war and it is set in his own childhood. It is a true account and gives so much detail about a period of history that is not widely written about. It is deeply moving but I would only recommend it to those who really enjoy a book steeped in history.
