Movies that do not receive enough recognition

I think that there are a lot out there that do not receive enough recognition. So many people only watch movies based on the previews that they see on TV. And we all know that the previews will show the best parts. I'm sure everyone has watched a comedy after seeing the preview only to find that you already saw every single comedic scene in the preview.
Anyway, a couple that I feel are worth watching are Birds of America and The Upside of Anger. Does anyone else have others to suggest?

Although it's not a new movie I would say "Beautiful Girls" is definitely worth a watch. It was released back in 1996 and is about a piano player who has reached a crossroads in his life so returns to his childhood home town to see the friends he grew up with and discovers that they all have their own issues with love and life. Although it sounds quite serious it does have some great light hearted moments and has a cast which features Matt Dillon, Rosie O' Donnell, Timothy Hutton, Michael Rapaport and a young Natalie Portman.
