Problems with my Sony Ericsson G900 cell phone!

Hello everyone. I have a sony ericsson G900 cell phone. It worked fine for about 6 months, and then suddenly it started having problems.
At first, the only problem was that the screen would become really dark sometimes and normal sometimes. Then the phone started getting very slow and hanging and crashing all the time. After a few days the phone started restarting on its own.
I've tried many solutions. I had even sent it to Sony service centre. There they said that it had a virus, removed the virus and gave me back the phone[That virus must have been there because i was transferring files from my PC to my phone once and I found out later the PC was infected with the gphone virus]. It worked fine for a couple of days but then the problems reappeared. However, in these few days I hadn't connected my phone to any PC. SO i figured the problem was not caused by a virus.
I have no idea what to do.
Has anyone else experienced such problems? Any idea how to fix it?
Please let me know if you have any idea about this problem.

S.E. G900 user here too.
Also still encountering the same problem as mentioned sandeepnongkynrih. I have already updated it using SEUS a few days ago but the problems keeps happening. I heard from some cellphone technicians that in order to fix this, they have to replace the LCD which (according to them) is the primary issue with S.E. G900 (and other touchscreens).
Another probable reason why the G900 keeps hanging is because of its old, slow CPU or processor. It's lack of processing power cannot sustain the features of G900, that's why it hangs. If I'm not mistaken, the CPU or processor used in G900 is the same used in S.E. P1i.
The G900 is a very good phone with lots of features hidden under a cloak of simple designs.

Thanks!
I am still using my G900. In the event that it freezes or hang-ups, I just try to restart it via the power button or remove/replace the battery.
The LCD replacement for G900 here in the Philippines is 1,500.00 pesos or roughly $32 (labor fee included).
Hope yours will be fixed as well.

Yeah, i got the same response too, that i have to change my LCD! I hope that fixes the problem. I really miss using it. Im stuck with my old Nokia 7610 right now. It was kinda cool when it first came out and i bought it, but it just doesn't feel right now. It seems sooo big... :P
Anyway all the best with your phone, hope you manage to get it fixed.

Hi Dude!!
I also have the same phone and the problem is also exactly same.I sent my phone to sony service 4 times and they changed the Mother board of the phone. But every time the problem came back after few days. Its not the issue of Virus.coz i also stopped connecting my phone to PC, but problem didnt stop coming. This time sony service said, the touch screen needs to be changed.Let's see if the problem gets solved.I have lost the hope.i think its time to change the phone...I would advise all, pl. do not buy sony phones with touchscreens. They are pathetic and so do the sony service.

Hi. I bought my mobile 10 months a go and it started having the above mentioned problems, with the same sequence since 3 weeks ago. I am not sure if it has a virus or not, becasue I live in Bermuda, and here they can not fix this model.
I also have another problem with it: In the past 5 days, it is not able to find bars most of the time.
Please if anyone knows how to fix his, let us know.

I believe this is a software problem so what you do is to go to Sony Ericsson website and SEUS or Sony Ericsson Update Service. Install it to your computer and check the latest firmware available is SEUS and update your phone. This is only just software bugs so it can be fixed by a firmware upgrade.

I did upgrade the firmware, but it did not help. The problems did disappear for a couple of days but then they returned. My phone is currently at a Sony Ericsson service centre. And the worst part is inspite of being under warranty, they say that fixing this problem will cost me 3 grands, in indian rupees, thats bout $75. :'(

I have exactly same problem, and it seems a common problem for G900. I have fix it, the problem is actually caused by LCD flex cable / loose LCD connector. Broken flex path(i found that G900 flex is more fragile than others) cause bottleneck between CPU and screen display.
Just opened my G900 as shown in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STnMHWTODr8 , and put a thick paper or something between the flex cable and keypad. see the picture here: http://i52.tinypic.com/qxrwpx.jpg.
If the problem occured again, replace the LCD itself.. but i doubt it wont broken again.. :)

I had the same problem.
Simply remove the two screws in the middle of the phone
(on the back). Then restart it.
Before that I had the same problem. The phone would respond
a bit faster when (lightly) touching the SMS-button and/or
the C-button. Try that first. If the phone responds faster,
it is likely the above method will fix your problem also.
