Well It's almost July and that's when Christmas shopping starts. So has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? My fiance and I haven't, we probably won't be able to afford any gifts until after our wedding In September. I know we are both trying to earn as much as possible.
So have you started your Christmas Shopping? Are you able to afford as much as you could last year, or the year before that?
Happy Shopping To All!

Well Congratulations to you as well! Yes, we don't have the money to get gifts right now, as we're still saving for the last minute things. Actually one of the reasons why I am online on sunday when I am usually not making money, is because I need to get payout to contribute to the wedding license. Have fun at the wedding you'll be attending.

Lol do you want it down the the days? lol. We're getting married in September on his grandmother's birthday and a friend's birthday who I met online. It's the 26th. We've got a counter on our myspace's. Oh yes, I'm sure it will be a bit stressful, but we're getting prepared for it. I'm actually not supposed to be online so as to relax before July when we're going to be the busiest.

I think its too early to shop for Christmas. In our family shopping usually starts after Haloween.
Anyway, for those who this early are preparing for Christmas, this site would be useful http://www.gifti.us

I haven't started my Christnas shopping yet, because I only have a small apartment, and no place to put all the stuff I may buy. Also, money is very tight for me. I like to go to places like my favourite coffee shop, and buy the gifts they offer there for the holiday season. They are things my family members like, and they are inexpensive, plus I'm supporting my friends who work there, and i know the stuff is good stuff.

That is great. So by buying gifts for your family, your also in a way buying gifts for your friends by buying the gifts. Coffee shops have tip jars do they not? So do you add a top here and there? Well Happy Shopping. We have the room, but just not the money over here. I appreciate the response.

Since I don't know what the future holds yet as far as job security, I'm probably going back to late Christmas shopping this year.
Normally, I start shopping very late. Sometimes even on Christmas Eve. But last year I started out pretty early and it was nice to get it done gradually. But I just don't know if I should do it that way again this year.
I have already purchased one present for one of my friends, a CD of Christmas songs.

It's hard to decide just when to start Christmas shopping, especially with the economy the way it is. I think that a bit of christmas shopping early wouldn't hurt anything but then again I'd only do it if I was sure I had extra money. I know that waiting till the last minute can be stressful to do, so I try not to wait until the last minute. Right now my fiance and I are trying to buy things for our wedding so we won't be purchasing Christmas presents until after the wedding if we can afford it. I appreciate your response.

Christmas shopping in July? Whoa! That's too early! well, here in our country, christmas shopping usually starts mid of november.. yeah, everyone likes to experience the christmas rush and that makes our way of shopping different from other countries.. it's actually fun though..=) as for me, i will be starting my christmas shopping end of october so i could raid the stores in the mall and get special presents for my loved ones..

Everyone has their different times to shop. I can't speak for everyone in this country as to whether they start shopping in July. I know some don't, and wait until November or something along those lines. I guess it just depends on the money situations too, and good buys. I appreciate your response.

Christmas whats that? Not trynna to ruin the holiday spirt but we been stop having christmas.I remeber being 6 years old and all i wanted was this barbie doll but i aint get nothing but a hug it hurted so bad going to school with the same clothes all the girls gettin compliments about how cute they are all the kids tellin everyone what they had and all i had was nothing, but my father well he's a single working father with 5 kids so its kinda hard thats why i been trying to do somthing positive and try to bring some income to the table so i can help out, looking for a job have'nt turned out to good over the past years, i been trying to get a job for the past 3 years since i was 15, im 18 now and it feels almost impossible not to be funny or rude but i'll shovel sh*i*t if i had to.No i cant afford to go christmas shoping i can barley go grocery shoping. I never thought that i would ever be in a dicth this deep when i cant even share joy with my family...Im creative so im just going to get some paper and make everyone i know a card so they would never have to feel like i did growing up without christmas....Thats somthing a child should never have to experience.

I'm sorry that you didn't have great Christmases but you do sound very well adjusted. I hope you can make a little money on here to help out some and buy a few things for Christmas. I know that the economy is really bad, it's effecting the whole world. Good Luck to you and I appreciate you responding.

I can understand that. It's difficult to get out of a habit, and even Christmas shopping at a certain time of the year can be a habit. Plus with lots of other things going on, Christmas shopping sometimes gets pushed back. I appreciate the response alot.

Ah! Lol it seems that many people who have responded think it a bit strange to start so early. I don't think it is, but I understand that monetarily wise and even storing wise, it can be difficult to start so early. Glad you have, and I'm sure your having loads of fun doing it. Do you have the Christmas spirit all year round? Have a wonderful day.

I can't even imagine starting Christmas shopping yet! I have so many birthdays to get through. My kids were born in August, September and October. My Sweetie's birthday is also in September. It will be his first birthday and Christmas since we've been together. I'm nervous about it. Right now with people losing jobs where I work, I'm trying to save as much money as possible. As far as affording as much as last year, I'm not sure. Enjoy your christams shopping and Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Oh we won't be able to afford anything until after our wedding. I know that I was nervous the first holiday season with my fiance and his parents. Now though we're family, and I'm not at all nervous about it. I'm sure it will go better then you expect. Unless you mean your nervous because of the state of the economy and jobs being lost? Well Good Luck to you on your ventures of getting all those presents!

HI there cowgirl: Boy talk about depressing, just to even think of holiday shopping LOL! Even though I no longer work for old WallyWorld I do know that Yes they did in fact start to receive Christmas in July in fact they probably have a few trailers of it now, BLEH!!
Even when I was working at Walmart before going on disability the "seasons" start so early in the stores it just really put me in a "downer mood" you know?
I do enjoy Christmas more now than what I used too but then again I've been on disability too since 1999. I can still recall the "horrors" of the Christmas music being played soooo early, GGEEZZ!!
As far as shopping goes there is precious little its hard for to just get the cards out and the only one I really shop for is my Father and he is just impossible to please you know?
If I had money then I'd love to be able to shop and enjoy that part of the season
more but that's not possible for me, so if you go do some shopping for me and have fun and just tell me about it ok?? LOL!
I do good to get my decorations up last year it took me three days to decorate that's because of my neck and back injury's I'm such a puss and always in so much pain... FA~LA LA LA LA LA LA!!!!!

Your the first person to make the point of things being out of stock, and that is so true. I'm glad your already prepared to give gifts to everyone. In this recession, we all need to save for not just Christmas, but other holiday's and just for bills. I appreciate your response to me.

I haven't started my Christmas shopping.I don't have the budget for it yet.what I usually do is give my money to my parents and siblings to buy gifts for themselves.I just ask my mom to buy gits for my grandmother, godmother, and aunt.I love shopping, but I hate long queues in the paying counter.

that is incredible to hear that christmas shopping starts in July in your country, i don't think the economic regression is biting hard over there LOL ! but over here in south africa, people just want to survive for some time before they start to shop or think about christmas, the regression is just biting harder in this country

We're in a lot of debt over here in the USA. Lol, but yes some shops start putting their stuff out early for Christmas. I'll be honest, I haven't seen anything yet, but I wouldn't doubt it. I know everyone has their different times to shop, and I think it's more about the money they have as to country preference. I greatly appreciate your response to me. Have a wonderful day.

Last year after CHristmas I did a bunch of shopping. I got several Fitz and Floyd Christmas platters at 80% off! My sister was with me so she picked out her own present for this year! Then she bought some other things to go with what I got her..so I am a step ahead. I am glad I got them when I did.....nice gift that is timeless as it's Christmas...so it won't be out of style etc when I give them this year.

When I went to NC last February I bought so many things in the sales. Especially at Bath & Body shop? Some name like that. I picked up many bits and pieces and have already used many unfortunately for Birthday and Mother's day gifts. They certainly came in useful. I will pick up a few things as I see them. Last year we scaled down so much but still had a great time together. We will do the same this year. Just token gifts. But I always find it exciting to open a gift on Christmas morning. I am still such a kid

Where in NC were you? My fiance and I live in a small town. There's a mall in another county, one of the stores is Bath and Body works, is that the one your talking about? I love to shop for sales, but rarely buy anything because we have no money. Oh and shopping for gifts at any time of the year for any occasion is great too, lol, it doesn't have to be for Christmas, you can store... birthday presents, mother's and father's day... lol any day.
Sorry your having comp troubles, I didn't respond to your one discussion where you said not to, but noticed you had a question there.

I always say I'm going to start my Christmas shopping in July but I never do. On Christmas Eve I am usually fighting through Wal-mart getting the last minute things that should have been gotten the week before and mumbling under my breath that next year I'm starting in July...LOL..I'm not sure yet if my Christmas will be the same or less as last year..I'm waiting to see how things are going to go with new production where I work. I am working 10 hours a day right now and they say I will be through August..so I guess I'm off to a decent start on Christmas money. I used to have a Christmas club account that I had a few dollars put in out of every check that was really nice around Christmas. I changed banks and never started another one.

Well I hope you can get the hours you need in! That's pretty cool about the Christmas Club Account, I've heard of those but never seen them at the banks I've banked at. It'd be a great idea for gifts etc, and it'd be money you never even missed to. Maybe you can get one at your new bank, or think of a innovative way to do it at home too, lol.

Wow, that's news for me, i shop for Christmas probably by the start of the December month.......July is like way too early for me........But i guess it might depend from place to place......over here in my country Christians are a minority you can say about 2% of the population so Christmas is not such a grand celebration.......but still when its Christmas people from all castes and creeds join in to celebrate........so its fun......

Lol I realize not everyone shops that early, and I'll be honest in saying I don't either. I might once my fiance and I have a good money flow coming in, just to keep from the buying rush, and the debt people have towards Christmas. Christmas is a great celebration but I realize that in some countries Christianity and the meaning of Christmas isn't as grand because of there being more people from a different religion. So your the minority, I think I've read you get pressure from that where you live am I correct? Well have a wonderful and lovely day!
