ok, so if you're on what not to wear they embarrassingly go through all of your clothes, make fun of them, and then either give them or throw them away. yet, when you see the people on this show go shopping, they do wear their own clothes. so how come do they get to keep some of their clothes? do stacy and clinton force them to throw these last couple of outfits away after they are done shopping for their new clothes?

I have been watching the show for a couple of years - I think they let them keep the "best of the worst" so to speak because they have to have something to wear when they go shopping....wouldn't make any sense to buy them new clothes beforehand then send them shopping now would it?
Here's my question though - I have watched some clips of the earliest shows - and they used to also ambush and make over men - wonder why they stopped doing that? Turnabout is fair play right? LOL

yeah they do need something to shop in, you're right. i'm just very detail oriented and want explanations for everything! about the men thing, i'm guessing it's a few reasons. i enjoyed watching men get made over too, but a lot of times they just dressed them exactly like clinton (argyle sweaters, jackets, dressy shoes) and they looked good. most guys look good if you put them in a button up shirt and a jacket, so maybe it's boring for them to do the same looks over and over, whereas with women they can play around and take more fashion risks. plus, more women probably get nominated, and they see some who are desperately in need of help so they pick them over the guys who could just get a shave and new clothes and look good. that's just my guess! thanks for responding!

i dont know but the clothes they get rid of are usually pretty shocking. last night there was a lady who only lived in t shirts and jeans. you can do so much better for yourself if you only try! i would hope that they get rid of all the persons previous clothing though or maybe the person does it?

I think you may have to visit the website for this television show to get the answer to your question. I am not quite sure I understand it myself.

i was asking this... if they really get rid of all the clothes, then why do the people get to still have some clothes to wear to go shopping in. sorry if it was confusing. i've checked out the website before but it's very sparse. maybe a message board would have some answers. thanks for your response.

Perhaps they hold onto some things or perhaps they select what will go and then hold onto everything until after the shopping. I seriously doubt they get rid of every single item because it would cost them thousands to replace someone's entire wardrobe.

They throw the terribly ripped and tworn cloths away and the good condition cloths go to shelters or are donated.
