witht he digital age, mobile phones is become a must even for kids. How old would you allow your kid (if you have one) to have his/her own mobile phone? What should be the restrictions imposed?

Well i have a 7 and 9 year old and i SURE WOULDNT give them cell phones. Maybe when they are 14 or so but right now no. especially since they have nobody to call on them and we never leave them home alone so there is just no point. no when they get older and can take care of it sure.

you're right. they're much too young to own a cellphone. i think it's important for kids to understand that the primary reason for having one is for parents /family to be able to get in touch with them. i know some parents who give their kids cellphones as early as 7! I guess they want to be able to get in touch with their children when they are away on business trips or when the kids are in school or something. Nonetheless, i'm personally skeptical as to whether or not, kids that age should already own a mobile phone. thanks for your reply. have a great day

Hi sanelaze, I would allow them when they will understand why we are giving them the cell. Maybe when they are 10 years as such. In today's world no one is safe so mobiles can be one of the ways through which we can get to know about the kids. But still there are chances that they may misuse them so its best if you provide the cells that are cheaper and which has only the basic necessity that are required. Well Happy Mylotting and have a nice day. I hope you are enjoying your stay here.

hello suj123. you're right. having a mobile phone is not like giving them toys. it comes with responsibility and they have to understand the value of it. thanks for replying. have a great day! :)
